Sunderland are not giving up on Jhon Lucumí , the Bologna defender whose transfer the Rossoblu have (so far) never opened up about. According to TMW , the English club is planning a new bid for the Colombian centre-back, born in 1998.
The details. The Premier League club's new offer is expected to exceed the €28 million stipulated in the release clause—which, however, cannot be activated because it expired on July 10—in the contract that ties Lucumí to Bologna until June 30, 2027 (given that the Emilian club has activated a unilateral option for a further year).
It remains to be seen whether this new offensive will change Bologna's minds: after having already sold Beukema to Napoli, the Rossoblu consider Lucumi unsellable. However, there's also a very complicated contract renewal in the background, and an offer better than previous attempts could even push the club to change their minds.

Players do not have to sign for them. They choose to for the £££££. Bit like they used to for city knowing they would not playHope not, I have to say. Might be me and elite football done. These are lads trying to be the best footballers they can be. Chelsea are treating them like poker chips. It is everything football should rail against. I suspect only supporters can bring real change but the insatiable appetite for progress via money seems to be well set, at least at premier league level.
wowJesus man, you weren't joking. What a club
If they sell us Lucimi I'll stop putting cinnamon in my Bolognese sauce. I think that's a fair deal.
