Good post mate.

I've said this many times before but we all have to appreciate that the far North East many be special to us but it's far far away in reality.

I don't believe either NE club will, ever again, force themselves to the top of the tree.

The Mags like to think that being a stag/hen night city, with a drinking culture, will appeal to millionaire players and their wives ...

... in reality they'll always have an eye on a southern club or Manchester/Liverpool at a push.

Now Newcastle have found they have to literally bribe the purely mercenary inclined players, to go there, the whole thing will implode.

Whoever put Newcastle forward, to the Saudis, will be worrying about their future ...

... heads will roll <whistle>
I think the last paragraph sums it up for me

Throw in the enduring silence from Saudi Arabia and it is easy to understand why a footballer’s agent might tell his client that, although Howe is clearly a brilliant coach, Newcastle look a bit dysfunctional right now. Geography may no longer be the main reason why top players steer clear of Tyneside.

Reminds me of how we used to be ran under Ellis Short, long may it continue.
