I think one of the biggest add on needs to be if we stay up, maybes even 5m. That way he's worth the 20m. 20m outright is too much for a player for 3 years with no sell on value.
If we don't stay up he's not going to stay and we'd be lucky to get anywhere near 10m

Someone on RTG has heard Dan Neil is asking around 50k a week wages - if true, he’s gone. No chance we give him that when he looks 5th choice CM (behind ELF, Diarra, Sadiki & Rigg) - and that’s before Xhaka.
 
I know this is very petty, but when people mention transfer fees, could they say whether it £s or €s.

Keep seeing fees such as Xhaka’s being put at 20m, £20m and €20. It might not be much to some of you lads, but the difference of approx £2.5m is a lot to me. Thanks in advance, you can continue the good work now.

I think the younger players will learn a hell of a lot from xhaka and improve massively therefore upping their value which in turn would pay for xhaka

Is he even worth that? Horrific at times last season and especially in our biggest games!

The key part of all these reports is the fact Xhaka and his agents now expect us to pay close to the fee asked to get a deal done, sounds like they've had encouragement from sunderland?

All of them now seem to expect Xhaka to leave this week

They've got a lot of work to do in thinning out that squad. They're more keen on just cutting players out than most, but even then it isn't healthy to have so many in training. There'll definitely be some loan bargains on the cards from them this window - and not just from the players already in the bomb squad. I'd be giving them a nudge on Trevor Chalobah to SAFC for instance.

Potentially a little harsh - he's effectively captain of a premier league team.
If we're paying Diarra 65k, is 50k THAT unreasonable? Be interested to know what you think he's worth

Edit: reading a few more posts, looks like I'm in the minority here hahaha

He started 4 of their CWC games and played 90 minutes for England in their last game. I don’t think he’ll be leaving!

For his performances, yes.

Personally think he’s around the 30k - 35k a week.

Comes round the same time Brad off twitter had heard we had increased our offer, although I know you take stuff like that wi eh a pinch of salt :emoticon-0102-bigsm
