GK and CB would leave me happy. We do need others but I'd be a lot more relaxed in bringing in the reinforcements in other areas with them sorted out
Still feel we’re short in CM and up top. Like a broken record but sign some experience - please

EFL starts on Friday night

Think we’ll see a few loans going out. Squad needs trimming

There's been some cracking posts made on this thread over the summer, good speculation, news, rumours and analysis. I hope that continues.

Without this thread, I wouldn't have a clue what the club was trying to do this summer and I'd know even less about the new lads we've signed.
Spot on, I'm not as clued up now as I was since I've stepped away from scouting so enjoying seeing the stuff that posters like @JimHeron92 @MadMackem77 @Nads and @SourPatch2 say about players as they clearly watch a lot more European football than I do now.

I don't want this thread to turn into a 'them' vs 'us' board, which it seemed to do over the weekend. Some will always be so defensive of the players we've got and some wont be - who cares they are all entitled to their opinions

Let's focus on transfers on this thread and enjoy what the club is trying to do

Seems like to happened again into the early hours last night. People posting good quality analysis on a player that's linked with us, in a position in which the manager has said we need to strengthen.

Only to be met with nothing other than arsey, sarcastic replies, which then stemmed into chaos. It's always the same 2 who end up sticking to each other till the end and multiple pages follow.

For the lads spending time doing that type of thing, keep doing what you're doing if you enjoy it and it breaks no forum rules.

For those who don't understand it, don't have the skillset to do it, and only see the players we have here currently as the one, then have a quiet word with yourself, and let others do their thing.

Yeah, shipping out is equally important to be fair. Squad is bloated and all income, wages help. With the ELF now starting, you would expect to see this all ramp up.
Yep, we've got 'senior' players who aren't even in the 1st team squad so hopefully they'll all will be out soon

We cant have a bloated squad for the season

I know some are concerned about existing players not getting a chance, the way I look at it is - id rather bring in quality players and then find out that our lads can step up than not sign quality and find out our lads can't step up

It's a huge jump from the Championship, some of our lads will make it and some wont - the exact happened when we got promoted from L1

Absolutely. If they are good enough and have the quality, they will get the chance. If they don't, they won't. We certainly shouldn't fall foul of looking to bring in quality just because a local lad is in the position etc.

A blend is important, having a mix, where possible gives that deep routed local expectation which brings the other lads into the club and forms cohesion.

Good point re the wider squad and opportunity mind. The slimmer it is, the more chance everyone gets.

Those able to make the step up will have a much better chance of showing their ability with quality players around them. Some will need a bit of time to adjust as the level in training increases. Really interested to see how that develops over the season. Mundle I think will hold his place if he stays fit, Neil if he stays will come good but suspect he’ll be one who takes a while to adjust.

Same mate, it’s a cracking thread and I just stayed out of the brawl. For a change
