You play the best combination, not the best individuals.
On this - I'd be keen to see Neil / Diarra / ELF against Hearts.
Although one would imagine in training they're already trying it and assessments are being made behind closed doors.
You play the best combination, not the best individuals.
Has he ever suffered before? He is about the fittest lad at the club.I have to ask, should that have happened and isn’t it worrying …
… it’s not likely to be easier this season.
Yeah i think he probably does, but also depends on who else comes in
Not sure we have many guaranteed starters who could be a captain, probably Hume
as I have said in a previous post he has had the contract long before we made any signings so I doubt fighting for his place has anything to do with the decisionI think you have missed my point. I am sure he understands competition for places is needed and he has to fight for it.
But to captain your hometown club to a wembley promotion is special. I cant think of many bigger honours for a Sunderland lad. In his shoes I would find it really hard to give that honour up and stick around. It is about pride and legacy. Now I am only guessing on him losing the armband. But right now, two games into pre-season, and if the jdugement of folk on here is close to accurate, he isnt in the same league as the new lads. If, and a big if, he is getting that vibe from Regis and coaches I would understand totally him wanting a move. If he were not a local lad I would take your stance. But the fact he is local makes it much harder for him. He could have his last memory as a wembley captain...
YAgree......And, it's perfect logic![]()
Leverkusen is close to Frankfurt airport. Double signing maybe
You'll get a good price for that, cheeky £20 on it**** it I'm going all in.
Somebody find me the odds for Jenson Seelt to be in the Netherlands squad at the World Cup.
Quick flight if I'm reading it right, 9 mins from antwerp to Newcastle/sunderland
Again. He would not be in it. Too slow on and off the ball. Too one footedYou play the best combination, not the best individuals.
Exactly what’s required. Spot on.Phil Smith has also said we are wanting...
a GK
Winger who can play both flanks
CB maybe 2
Midfielder
Chance of a ST
Probably over stimulation ie nervesI have to ask, should that have happened and isn’t it worrying …
… it’s not likely to be easier this season.
Hardly fair really. He barely played the last quarter of the season, it's not like he was just dropped for the playoffs. Also, pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Not that I think it’s the end of the world but worth noting Neil wasn’t only hooked from the championship play off final, he was also dropped for the League 1 play offs.
Private jet inbound from Antwerp.Have I missed news on Lammens?
Have I missed news on Lammens?
Not itk, have never implied I am, but heard from someone who occasionally gets little bits and bobs that DN has asked for a minimum of £70k pw and that's where it all fell apart. Leaning more to him leaving atm.I still have a feeling that Neil will sign a new deal and stay fight for his place and contribute
I just dont see a deal that suits us and him being on the table
