Khanous makes more sense to me now if the first half system is what we play, still not keen on the outlay it would take but can see the rationale of it

I see that signing as more of depth on the wings rather than a 10 after tonight’s game

Thought we played more of a flat 433 tonight with all 3 midfielders rotating into deeper and further forward roles.

I thought le fee was significantly more advanced than the other two with and without the ball

Happy to be proven wrong by the heat maps like if and when there out

You might be right mate, I just like the fluidity of all 3 being able to play different roles rather than having an out and out number 10 that won’t get involved in defending as much

It’s not that simple. Is Xhaka good business is separate to Neil. I think it can be and we could still actually recoup a wedge in a couple of years because Saudi clubs will still be interested if he’s still good.
With Neil if he’s not agreeing a new contract he has to go for what we can get. I’d rather keep him for continuity, proper depth and local connection though.
Think this point is really valid. If we stay up he/we may decide that his job was done and a last large pay day in Saudi is then worth considering, probably at a profit. Even if we go down (which i don't think we will) then he/we may also decide that a last large pay day in Saudi is then worth considering where we would probably get our money back.

Need more lads like that Bilbao player who played for free in his last year to give something back to the club. He's my yardstick for what a footballer should be like and that will never change, no matter how much money is in the game.

This all day long mate. Luke Chadwick went and played for his boyhood club a few years ago before he retired, played for pretty much nothing.
