He has 2 years. For me he needs to show he can play a season without his hamstring snapping into pieces before any long term deal is provided.
While I do get that, it depends on how much the club feel that the second one - plus the one this week - is tied to the fact that we’ve been desperate to get him back on two occasions in the past 6 months. Depends on the money too, but there’s perhaps an opportunity for us to demonstrate that we look after players who go the extra mile.

Hi

I was told about this first thing this morning but also told that the player wanted to put it out their first, part of his socials and black out previously. Seemed strange to me, but modern players and that.

Unfortunately, it was a risk factor given his style of player and physiological makeup, and his legacy issues.

The fact that's it's surgery again, is the most worrying part of all this. The last time he has it, really should have fixed the issue. You don't want to be reattaching fibres, messing about in the belly of one of the hamstring muscles, more than once.

Surgery will mean an absolute minimum of 8-10 weeks. Likely 12.

If I was a different club I wouldn't touch Mundle for a free transfer currently. 3 major hamstring ruptures already. Awful for him but significantly question marks moving forward.
He should have the right to share this info himself tbh. Awful that internet can let this sort of stuff out before the lad can. For me anyway. I dare say there are GDPR complications should anyone have the angst to do so. Putting private medical info into the public domain is really poor. But hey, that seems to be the ****e society we live in.

Personally think he will be a miss. Hope his surgery and recovery is class and he gets back to playing in our first 11. So much in his favour.

I know mate. That's why when I was told first thing I didn't post at all today until people said he posted on his Instagram. Seemed the right thing to do anyway

Top man. Modern internet is too focussed on sharing personal info ahead of when is appropriate. Mundle deserves better than having it spread about willy nilly. Hope he is on the mend soon. Hope he gets a bit of privacy too, doubtful as that may be.

I really like Roberts coming inside and popping up all over to get the ball. Looks like a tactically coached change.

That said, he wouldn’t be able to do it with Hume playing the way Hume plays. Was pretty clear first half Hume was stepping into midfield as a Pep style full back. Allowing Sadiki to push on. Cant be having the right winger also come inside and completely give up that flank.

edit - just noticed wrong thread. Sue me.
