That is the beauty of all of our signings. I am not grumbling by any means. They all could be class. And while they are wearing out famous colours they get my daft cheery voice whenever I can.

Got to be honest though. Wouldnt mind a couple of Brits to come in and give us what I still think we have as a footballing culture. Cresswell would do fine as a starter - made some of the euro lads look second rate in the u21s. Would run through anything to clear his back line.
Pleased I'm not the only one on the British signings

I love what we've done, and i get British players often cost a lot more but we need to get the balamce right between British players and talented foreign lads

Don't want to set @FellTop off but I do think we need to be a bit careful now when it comes to continuity.

16 players played 900+ minutes in all comps last season. Mepham, Jobe and Watson are already gone. Neil and Cirkin seemingly need to sign contracts or they'll be gone. Mundle looks like he could be going. Patterson, Roberts and Browne the club have either replaced or have been actively looking to.

I'm not exactly big on sentimentality but I do think cohesion is important.
Not ideal but I’d rather they didn’t leave for free either. We can do better than Mepham too.

Same here, Lauriente has been the least buzzing I've been with a signing so far - mainly because I really like Mundle and it just seems he might be coning to replace him

I dont think we would have pushed him out the door, I think there was talk of him being unsettled earlier this year so hoping it's more that and the club doing right by him

Said the other day Adingra is only 6 months older than Mundle iirc. Be really tough for him to get in the team now when Adingra has so much football under his belt in comparison. Watson obviously a bit different as he was 18 but Mundle is 22 so if we can get a decent fee that offsets the cost of Adingra it makes sense for me. A shame he’s not really had much of a chance to show what he can do but I don’t think we can risk starting him over the others.

I personally don't think it's a risk but I also get the business side of things so selling him might actually help us be even better

On the British thing - if indeed Neil, Cirkin and Mundle go, and Patterson gets replaced, that’s 4 English players. Roberts is also becoming less likely to start and replaced by an international. Only one of them has been “replaced” so far, by Reinildo. We could do with at least two British players coming in.

For instance if we get two foreign centre backs and a foreign keeper, only Hume and Rigg will be in the first team starting candidates from the UK

The club might think that’s acceptable and maybe it is. But we’ll have gone from a very British team to a very multi national one

Better edit that to say Mundle, we will have a meltdown if folk think Mayenda is leaving us

Brighton played Liverpool end of last season and there was 4 British players starting between the 2 teams. Agree with @Scout73 i’d like a few British players to come in, especially in the spine of the team but I think in general in the PL there’s not an abundance of talent to choose from really. Man City regularly had 0 British starters in their Xl with Foden dropping out. Thinking of Chelsea’s best Xl they’ve probably only got Palmer and Colwill. United maybe Maguire and Mainoo if he’s lucky? Arsenal Rice and Saka, Lewis-Skelly obviously coming through now.

I'm bored waiting for the wife to finish watching her **** program.

Seems we're looking for an older (ish) midfielder with prem experience.

Quick look and they all seem very unrealistic but I wouldn't bet against us getting one of them.

Serie A

McTominay
Guendouzi
Douglas Luiz
Anguissa
McKinnie
Gilmour

Bundesliga

Palhinha
Xhaka
Sabitzer
Emre Can

Ligue 1

Soler
Fofana
Ndombele
Andre Gomes
Bentaleb
Kamara

Probably missed some. The **** are **** and the best are probably unattainable, unless we pull a rabbit out the hat.
