He may be more suited to playing in a counter attacking team but I’m unsure where so many of our fans are getting this idea that our players will be better in the PL than they were at championship level, especially Dan Neil. He’s had 3 years of championship football in which he hasn’t really stood out and people reckon he’s going to turn into Toni Kroos as soon as he steps onto the pitch at a higher level.

As for Isidor he’s going to be up against the likes of VVD, Saliba, Murillo, Van De Ven etc who are all rapid.. I’m sure he’d rather be playing against George Edmondson and Shane Duffy :emoticon-0102-bigsm

This season will be a massive step up for some of these lads, I think if a few of them really step up and hold their own we’ll do well. Not too sure on Isidor personally because I think he’s very rash in front of goal at times but Mayenda I have real high hopes for. He would be my starting striker if we don’t sign someone ready to hit the ground running.
My issue with Isidor is I thought his link up play and hold up play was poor last season

Yes there's more space in behind in the pl but there's also less time on the ball for teammates to be able to find him

My other concern is a bit of a daft one but he doesnt score enough simple goals for me, tap in or 6 yard box goals - some of that will be service

None of us know how our boys will step up, I reckon quite a few will smash it and a few will struggle - excited to find out

Remember the talk a few weeks ago about shifting to a 5-3-2, looks more likely we'll be going 2-3-5.

Really surprised we are investing heavily in another winger, unless they see him as a striker or unless Mundle is going to leave which I'd be disappointed about. I dont mind pace and options though thats for sure.

Do hope we are getting close on a cb though. Would like to start building some partnerships and the Portugal games would of been nice tests for that but still plenty of time.

Could we hit the £200m mark on spend here? Crazy

First time I’m questioning our recruitment

not because he’s bad but unless Mundle is off another right footed winger doesn’t make sense to me

Good player at least
It seems to me that we're setting up for rapid counter-attacking football with width, speed and mobility using players who can operate anywhere along the front line.

Not really following this thread over the last few days but I'm increasingly confused about our squad building (can only assume our overall budget is ****ing massive!). Only fair to judge the finished product on 1st September though.

I think more and more that Talbi has been signed initially, at least, to predominantly be a right wing option for us. Re-read Speakman's quotes from when he signed and it has only reaffirmed that for me.

Also, the Romano tweet about Mundle's contract was a little strange for me, maybe a little spin and playing the game from the club there. Laid the foundations of 'well, we wanted to keep him...' if he's sold.

This deal has been rumoured for ages now. Goes to show how long these things can take.

Yeh this is the first one this season that has been rumoured for more than a couple of days.

I reckon we've played a game of chicken with them over the fee. Was sure they were saying 25m previously so 20m is a comedown from them.

This is the most exciting transfer window of our lives and we all deserve it after the misery weve endured over the past 10 years from signing players like Mcgeouch, Scowen, Dobson, Jack Baldwin, Joel Lynch and Jerome Sinclair and having players like Ethan Robson, Kimpioka, Josh Hawkes, Jack Diamond and stephen Wearne as our upcoming talent close to breaking into the first team, it really puts things into perspective.

What Kyril has done for us since he took over is nothing short of amazing. All our youth teams are thriving and we have talent in abundance coming through the ranks, it beggers belief from where we were 6 years ago to where we are now.

We should all embrace next season and hold tight for what will be probably the most exciting one we've ever known.
