But, I'm just thinking I'll let them get on with all that, whatever they amount to. Recklessness has never been their way, so I imagine they'll know where they can go with it.
I do like him as a player mind, my type really. A good couple of years from him, at the level he's been playing could be a big help to us. But I do doubt he'll end up here.
This signing would be crossing that threshold for me from buying smart and hoping to do well to investing heavily into survival. This is the first player I look at and think we'd lose money if we went down. He's also one that I look at and think it moves the needle considerably and makes survival much more likely.
I'm not sure if the club are ready to put it all on the line yet.
I personally would prefer us to go for an alternative to El Khannous at the prices quoted
Don’t think he’s the player he once was, really highly rated when he was younger. Plenty of experience though, 220 PL games
It doesn’t really make sense to me - particularly if we’re still chasing a 6. Might be different if he was left footed but, given the makeup of the squad at present plus the available minutes were likely to have, he doesn’t strike me as the right profile if we’re going for one more player in that area.
