Yeah, that's my reading of it too mate. Sounds like he doesn't fancy playing for Ten Hag for the next three years or maybe Ten Hag wants his own man in that position. Remember he insisted on having Anthony at Man Utd when they already had Amad.
Maybe its a bit of both.

And if he’s indicating he wants a new challenge we shouldn’t have him as captain. I’m not sure anyway tbh because I think his performances may not justify his place.

Sometimes I might seem impatient because I'm posting regularly and posting what I think is happening, which can often be a worry!

For instance I still don't think Xhaka is going to happen because I think Saudi will come back in or he'll stay at Leverkusen. He absolutely could happen, and I'd love to see a tweet that suggests we're favourites or he wants the move. So far the only language we've seen about him wanting any move is that he wanted the move to NEOM and had agreed terms with them.

It will definitely be different. It's also different because a player like Xhaka has been around the game long enough and won't be rushed.

Xhaka also has a family which these teenage lads probably don't.

People forget that footballers are humans. A move to Saudi for example might be a 1 season at an easy level which will keep him fresh for his final world cup and then retire with a ****load more money. Turkey would just be a new experience, still play European football and live in Istanbul. Sunderland is the chance to compete in the best league in the world again and lead an exciting project but would also likely mean ending his career in the North East of England if we stay up or having to move again in a year if we go down.

No human is making that decision in 48 hours without thinking it through, talking to their partner, listening to what the clubs and their agents say etc.

He's also on another continent at the moment focusing on getting fit for an important World Cup season. He'll be in no rush to make a decision.

Aye. Time to **** or get off the pot. Both sides.

As everyone will guess I want him to stay and lead us out this season. But if the two parties cant agree best for both to move on.

Neil, I hope, will always be remembered well here. Local lad who played a massive part in our revival from worst spell in clubs history. Club moves on with clarity into key pre-season period. I dont want it to be deadline day ****e.

As for next captain. Not really sure we have a natural successor already in the camp. Maybe with ONien as club skipper it presents a chance for someone to grow into it. I would like us to have a CB who could captain us tbh, Ballard maybe?

In fairness no matter where granit xhaka goes or plays, he's getting a call up to the national team. He doesn't have to worry too much.


In other news theres a flight from Valencia that goes to Faro then straight to the north east, anyone linked from there?

Personally a Cesar Torrega and Lucumi partnership sounds pretty nice.
