Transfers can take weeks and Xhaka is in Rio, this one won't happen overnight.

He's also a calibre or player that will have other offers, so he has to consider his options.

Then there's the fact that Leverkusen seem to want anywhere from €15-20m and we've supposedly bid €10m.

A bit of patience is required with this one.

You're completely, 100% right so not arguing with what you're saying.

But every deal we've actually done this window has been quick and decisive, or at least its seemed it once its become public.

Every deal that's become in any way "protracted" beyond even a single day after initially breaking (which I know is no time at all), hasn't happened.

So I get the nervousness about things not clicking into place quickly - even if they're irrational.

So is Ekwah our player or not?
If not, since when, and how much did we get for him?
Were ASSE forced to buy him as part of the loan deal?
Why wasnt there a stipulation in the deal where that if ASSE were relegated, Ekwah would return to Sunderland? Or were ASSE not supposed to be relegation material?
Basically, have ASSE therefore pulled a pre KLD 'Sunderland?'
he had a great season Stat wise last season so I believe asse triggered their buy clause as they think they will be able to sell him on at a profit

if they are wanting 15-20m we will not pay that for a 32-year-old, and as you say if he has other offers, they will probably be better than a newly promoted team.

Not that I've ever been involved in any,but I imagine that very few of these transfer deals are the same and I can see that a deal involving an experienced, international player who's 32 years old would be markedly different from one involving a 19 year old prospect. And also with the selling club....they may or may not have an oven ready replacement, and, despite having agreed terms, may not want to do it just yet.

You're absolutely right, so not saying for one second that I agree the deal should be done by now. Just that I understand that nervousness when you look at the cadence of all our other signings this window which have been unusually "quick" once linked.

You and Cam are the least patient people on here

Eh? I'm saying I understand why somebody else is being impatient. I've not said anything about this one.

I literally said the guy was right for saying we need to be patient.

Did you even read the post?
