If we are working on a deal for xhaka we must have been given encouragement from his side that he's open to it or at least open to discussions

If he had zero interest in joining these journalists wouldn't be posting about it imo

Positive so far, but will still be such a hard transfer to get over the line, really hope we can do it

49 games in all comps for leverkuson last season. I can’t even get my head round the fact that there’s a chance, Callum styles to this in 18 month feels like football manager

He was class for Leverkusen both seasons and his last season at arsenal he was unreal - i know a few arsenal fans who said he was their best CM that season

Would be an unreal signing

Won't believe it until it happens tho but would love to see him sign for us

Shaka sounds encouraging, anguissa sounds like agent trying to get better deal work

This is my thinking to, if it was a no go or Xhaka wasn’t interested it would have been quickly shut down in the press. I’m feeling positive that we will get him, although I’m an eternal Sunderland optimist.
