What's encouraging for me is nobody has come out and poured cold water on it yet.

Nobody has said its further along either, or hinted that its looking good etc. It's just us "trying". So have to try to stay on an even keel with this one but positive signs. It might stay as "trying" until its done.

Not a fan of these deals being so public. Obviously not the clubs fault but feel like it’s set up for disappointment

yeh on one hand I'm delighted for the dopamine rush and keeping the window exciting and on the other hand I'm like Shhhhhhh Sacha Shhhhhhh.

Still think there's a chance they're trying to get another Saudi club to come in. But that's all my pessimistic negative drivel that my brain often goes to.

Ben Jacob’s tweet feels very similar to how he broke the bulka to NEOM news

In a surprisingly optimistic way to look at it for me, I think he’d be keen on a prem return with it being a World Cup year, could probably be one of the last World Cups of his career so this could play in our favour

And he won't necessarily know it yet but I don't think there's a fanbase in the world he's more suited to. We will love him and he will love us. It's just such a fit in so many ways.

I think the club feel confident to allow Keith and sacha to tweet regarding our interest to be honest, especially after the last Saudi shenanigans. Also the fact Sacha says KLD is leading the discussions with the player

I actually think we might do it

Not having a dig at you mate but I've seen this idea of "the club allowed the journalist to release it" from swvwral people and I really don't understand where it comes from.

The club don't get a say in what journalists decide to put in twitter, we haven't "allowed" anything. If a journo gets wind of something and wants to release it for clicks / ad revenue, they don't have to ask Kyril for permission first lol.

Just watched a youtube video that popped up on my feed of Tommy Watson's interview at Brighton's training camp yesterday. Made me so ****ing angry. Says he went to Brighton and was blown away by the training ground, wanted to go there because they're the only club around who develop young talent ffs. He LITERALLY spent the first minute talking about him scoring in the championship playoff final as an 18 year old and THEN said Brighton are the only club that give a platform to young talent. Grrrrr
we shall see when Rigg is playing in the Premier League and he is playing in the under 21s for Brighton

The club didn't believe the current stable of CBs was good enough for the Championship, hence why Mepham was signed. RLB said on Saturday that he wants defenders signed.

Signing at least one CB reduces risk. If we go with our current CBs, we need 50% of them, at minimum, to make the jump. That's a huge risk, if we bring in one of the level of Lucumi or Diakite then the percentage goes right down and we'd only really need one of our current group to adapt quickly.

The jump to the PL is huge. I personally have huge question marks over Ballard, yes he was brilliant in the playoffs but he was pretty poor outside of that, which is why he couldn't break into the team for a lot of the season. O'Nien is O'Nien, I know better than to right him off but even then he's currently injured. Alese has all the tools but can we rely on him? He's only played 2573 league minutes since joining. Seelt is coming off a big injury. We need one CB at minimum purely for a numbers reason, we more than likely need 2 just to reduce risk.
Add to the fact Ballard and alese are injury prone and 09 shoulder can go anytime

Same as the Petrovic deal really, one says it and the rest report it.

Only one who hasn’t said anything is Fab.
