Saudi interest is now a litmus test for signings. Do they value money over football or not?
Once a player hits a certain age, its money all day long imo. he's 32, probably 3 years left in him you'd think.

Well the only Saudi club interested pulled out, I think sky are just reporting it based off what Sacha first tweeted about us being in for him, but he tweeted not long after that, that the Saudi club interested had moved on from Xhaka due to setbacks and moved onto Tolisso
Tom White was saying on a podcast the other day that sky only report it when they have it confirmed by two sources tooI think the club feel confident to allow Keith and sacha to tweet regarding our interest to be honest, especially after the last Saudi shenanigans. Also the fact Sacha says KLD is leading the discussions with the player
I actually think we might do it

I get your point but I think Sacha mentioned something about ‘embargo’s’ with UK newsI guess we don't entirely control Keith and Sacha so can't stop them reporting what they want. But it is encouraging like you say.
Two for everyone else.....four if it's us! Biased bastards!Tom White was saying on a podcast the other day that sky only report it when they have it confirmed by two sources too

He is talking to Brighton mate. Hardly going to say Sunderland are this that and tother as well. He has already said his thanks and goodbyes for us.Just watched a youtube video that popped up on my feed of Tommy Watson's interview at Brighton's training camp yesterday. Made me so ****ing angry. Says he went to Brighton and was blown away by the training ground, wanted to go there because they're the only club around who develop young talent ffs. He LITERALLY spent the first minute talking about him scoring in the championship playoff final as an 18 year old and THEN said Brighton are the only club that give a platform to young talent. Grrrrr
You forgot the fake city bitWorld cup year, that's a huge influence for him. Play in the best league in the world or play against part time teams in a **** league

No doubt fans of clubs of players we have signed are frustrated they have come here and said how wonderful we are blah blah. Just media coached platitudes from players when they sign anywhere.
Yep,good post mate.I would have definitely have taken Henderson on the basis that the deal was right for the club. We would still have needed someone else alongside him over and above what we've signed if Neil left mind. Longer it drifts on I think Neil will get sold. Henderson would have been excellent in terms of leadership and influence even though his best days are long behind him.
Xhaka is unquestionably a better player currently than Henderson, he's matured over recent years it seems under Alonso, having had a great final season at Arsenal as well.
Still think he's got the Cana side to his game if required as well mind.
If he comes in (and its still a big if), I'd expect him to captain the side. He's a real leader. Similar to Henderson in that he would command respect from the entire squad immediately.
