Canny mad to think it’s only 5 weeks till the first game of the season. Makes you think how do they manage to get another 5-6 in that we need but they always do somehow
I am repeating myself here, but I dont have a concern about Browne being in our squad next season. The lad has played 70 international games. He isnt an average player by any means, he is a good one. Really it is up to him as he will have offers I am sure and if he wants to play 40 odd games fair enough (I would personally so get it). If he stays I would give Jones a loan. If Browne goes I would keep Jones around and let him train and learn with our squad. I dont feel desperate for another CM if Neil stays. Just an opinion though.

5 robust players who all expect serious minutes is probably enough tbf. Even more so if we bring in another attacking player who can play as a 10. Also maybe they think they can mop up any extra minutes with Triantis and Browne.
Yep i have. Ive also played football at a decent level with a broken toe so what youve just said is bollocks mate
hmm I think you’ve convinced me I may be writing Browne off too soon
A bit on why we didn't sign Henderson

...Sunderland’s recruitment team were aware of Henderson’s likely availability at the start of the summer, and have been monitoring his situation throughout the last couple of months.
However, with Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki already having been recruited to strengthen the central-midfield ranks, the Black Cats hierarchy decided against offering Henderson what would have been an emotional return to his hometown.
The presence of Dan Neil and Chris Rigg in Sunderland’s midfield mix was also a factor, with Sunderland officials not wanting to hamper the development of two of their most promising young players.
Sunderland's sporting director, Kristjaan Speakman, was aware of the emotional pull behind bringing Henderson back to the Stadium of Light, and the veteran midfielder's experience and leadership qualities would potentially have offered something in a squad that, on the whole, remains extremely young.
However, senior sources claim there was a determination to ensure 'heart did not rule head', with Speakman having been involved in the unsuccessful decision to offer Jermain Defoe a second spell as a Sunderland player.
In the end, it was decided that Sunderland should look to the future rather than the past, hence the move for alternative, much younger central-midfield targets.
Henderson was made aware of his boyhood club's decision, and having turned down a series of alternative offers including a firm approach from Porto, the North-Easterner has opted to join Brentford, who finished in tenth position in the Premier League next season....
My guess is the 6th man is likely to play very limited minutes. Maybe less than 1000. We could probably get any jobber to do that.yeh if Triantis and Browne stay I agree. In my head they were both going
How do we give game time to 7 midfielders? I know the Afcon is Christmas time, but how do we stick to the principles of showing players a pathway if potentially 1 or 2 wont even make the bench on a weekly basis?I would like one more CM to add to the 6
if triantis proves himself he could be a very useful player who can play CB 6 and 8
On the Seelt debate, I'm still unsure on him - he's not had a regular run out so hard to tell how good he could be at CB
He has the attributes you'd want in a CB and is technically pretty good.
I'll be surprised if he plays regularly this season however, most of us would have said yhe same about Mayenda last season and he became 1 of our most important players
Hope Seelt and Huggins have an injury free pre season so RLB can make a proper assessment on both
I wonder who’s going to be at LB today and in Portugal since Cirkin and Reinildo both won’t be involved
Almost certainly Huggins... Unless they fancy Bainbridge or AndersonI wonder who’s going to be at LB today and in Portugal since Cirkin and Reinildo both won’t be involved
Going to guess Bainbridge, with Huggins being eased in slowly.I wonder who’s going to be at LB today and in Portugal since Cirkin and Reinildo both won’t be involved
We aren’t even halfway through the transfer window yet. Still plenty of time to bring in what we need.Canny mad to think it’s only 5 weeks till the first game of the season. Makes you think how do they manage to get another 5-6 in that we need but they always do somehow

Would people be happy going into this season with Freddie Woodman or Aynsley Pears as our goalkeeper? That’s probably about the level Patti is at imo. Wouldn’t even be up for discussion if he wasn’t an academy lad.
