An observation with the Arokodore links is how few of the big number 9 players there seems to be around. Not that fashionable a style, I suppose, but surely it will always be effective.

I reckon most people love a proper archetypal number 9, that's one of the reasons I was keen on Evan Ferguson and maybe why Abdullahi might be. a surprise shout.

Reactions: Robertson
Good news for us if they flip him straight away and we have a sell on, as his value wont increase in Ligue 2
We’ve been trying to buy someone older for more than twice that from Ligue 2 so I’m not sure that’s true. The sell in would be from now so probably not much- they might get 10m so we might get an extra 800k? Better for us if he stays, they’re promoted and he does well in top flight.

Who?

Pierre Ekwah is expected to make his loan switch to AS Saint-Etienne permanent imminently, while Abdoullah Ba and Timothee Pembele have also been told they can leave the club. Further departures are inevitable, with some of last season's loanees such as Jay Matete potential candidates to leave on a permanent basis. There is then expected to be a lot of outgoing loans as Sunderland look to get game time for youngsters who they believe have big futures but who aren't quite ready for Premier League football, with Matty Young and Milan Aleksic two obvious candidates.

Updated graphic. Take the ‘1st choice’ etc with a pinch of salt.

I realised I missed Jay Matete. Sell

glaring holes for me GK, CB x2, CM, RW
Seems to be what we are targeting bar RW and we are also targeting strikers according to Phil Smith the next steps are GK, CB, ST
