I do think promise signed a new contract after that 20m report, havent seen any quoted prices since.

Rodon, Struijk, Bogle, Aaronson, James, Gnonto all have PL experience. We’ve spent wisely so far, the marquee signings still to come *hopefully*.

The PL is so different to any other league, it’s impossible to say how any overseas players will handle it.

Most Leeds fans are remaining grounded, expecting a slog, there is certainly a lot of excitement over here.

Am I concerned about Farke - Yes but he really wasn’t backed by Norwich and I still wouldn’t swap him for your coach, I honestly think the PL is going to shock him, didn’t he get a team relegated in France?
I think our coach is next level with his intelligence, Wenger esq, lot of players who have crossed his path are happy to return. We shall see.

Hope you manage 4th bottom mate, just behind us <cheers>

Yeah I sent the Rongier article on the weekend about como choosing between him and Perrone - but forgot he was only 5'7.

Does break up play really well though, probably one of the best in the world in the middle third and disrupting the opposition and surprisingly not horrible in the air.

But can we afford to add even more small midfielders? Maybe

Sadiki, Rongier and Diarra is just a midfield of ratters

The more and more i think about it, the more Ludovic Blas seems an obvious move.

Older french player in his prime to mentor the group of young french speakers, left footed attacking midfielder/right winger mainly but can genuinely play everywhere.

But hes also just really good, top level creator and can contribute defensively on that flank. Then you are bringing in Talbi on that side to add pace off the bench.

Think it’s just Sacha covering his arse tbh. The two he’s claimed are exclusives turned out to be duds.

We will buy a striker at the value we think they’re worth, while being mindful of Mayenda and Isidor’s minutes and progression. That may or may not be over 20m depending on what value is available

had Lyon been relegated this one would have been much more likely a go-er

So if the budget is only €20m for a striker I can see us signing a young talent who’s played some senior games from Belgium or France. Similar to Talbi. Who can come in a compete with Isidor and Mayenda rather than displace them

The budget sort of adds up if you look at the point the noise around Vanat and Abline cooled.

It makes sense to me. If you're spending €30m on a striker, they're your number 1. Someone just around the €20m and they're maybe the main man but rotational to some extent.

I feel it’s paramount we get a keeper who’s ready now. I’d sacrifice a bit of potential to get one who’s going to win us points this season

I was thinking this when I saw the Livakovic link. A 30 year old keeper still has 4-5 years in them at the top. We have Matty Young for the long term future of the club. That older keeper could be better right now and still cheaper than a 22 year old who has a higher ceiling.

Since KLD bought the club he has been adamant on sustainability and the club running itself financially. We’ve seen this with lower wage bills in the championship and lower fees to other clubs.

We aren’t just intentionally pissing the prem money up the wall, it has been thought out on these players and we’ve paid the fees that we are happy with and I’m sure financially are sound with (why would kld throw away his strategy now).

There’s no way we can be certain a diarra or Sadiki or talbi will make it in the prem. They are huge risks but ones the club have done their due diligence on.

It’s like fans of other teams think promoted teams can just buy 5 £40m proven prem players and guarantee survival. It’s ridiculous and clubs have to try and think outside the box to try and compete, that’s what we are doing. If it doesn’t work then fair enough, so be it, but all I’ve wanted us to have is a clear identity and strategy and we’ve got that.

I’m just enjoying the ride and what will be will be. Being grounded instead of excited will make no impact on what we achieve next season, so I’d rather enjoy it while I can.
Great post marra. Roll on Shields on Saturday

Hhhaaa'wwwwaaaaayyyyyy the lads

I was initially ambivalent to Hendo coming back...but looking at the age of our new signings and the experience and professionalism the lad would bring, I really hope he signs

Smacks of Lyon trying to appease fans, they need the money but also have a player who is a fan ….we aren’t letting him go cheap lads.

if we have even bid 20m that would be our start and there start is 30m …..deal to be had somewhere around 25m - 27m euros in my uninformed view
