People get excited at these things and speak with enthusiasm, that then gets passed down and often any warnings of caution or reservation get lost along the chain.

Things like "I've always liked Mika" with a GIF of the singer is always just going to create problems.

Maybe I'm in a bad mood about Petrovic but whilst the Reinildo signing is brilliant on paper, I can't help think he's going to end up being back up left back and hardly play.

I'm concerned not just that we've lost Petrovic, but that one of the few sides I think we can finish above now have him.
I definitely don’t have Bournemouth as a club we are looking to finish above.

A really smart club, with good recruitment, sitting on a load of funds and PSR room, with a good head coach and no European distraction. Top half finish for me.

i get it but look at it the other way, if we some how manage to pull it off we stay up and became one of those 17 teams, based on our targets now we can only imagine not only who'd we attract but how much more easier it would be.

It's a mega job, but thats the difference, stay up and we look like we have the capability and ambition to stay up for a long time.

The likes of bournemouth, brighton and brentford are all great run clubs but the proverbial draw bridge was raised at a very fortuitous time for them.

What I will say about Petrovic, having watched a couple of his showreel things...he parried the ball into the danger area ALOT.

Granted, he made a lot of saves, but his defence had to get him out of the **** a fair bit with clearances.

I'd still love him here, don't get me wrong, but no goalkeeper who would join us at our current level will be flawless.

Not bitter at all

There's very few for me and Bournemouth are one of them if they don't get the right defenders in. But I agree with you that if they get it right then they'll be top half again.

I would say the chances of signing a left back whos played 100 games for athletico Madrid in the last 3 years while having several options as backup are zero. Will undoubtedly play

Taking a closer look at Reinildo, he reminds me a lot of Danny Rose, pace to burn, willing to run the full length of the pitch and has a penchant for last ditch tackles when it seems like all is lost.

In all seriousness though if Reinildo is our main left back I can see Cirkin going rather than sticking around for the odd sub appearance and a few games over Christmas.
