We are after much much better
Yes. But we may not get the player we want. No club gets everything they want.
If we don't, or can't, then Johnstone would be a reasonable signing.

There’s also probably multiple options out there better than Johnstone we could go for first. That said it’s not even a link it’s literally Nixon saying because of a goalkeeping coach we might move for him. Zero link or credibility to us moving for him at allYes. Btw on Talbi I defo think he’s gonna be competing with Mundle not Roberts. Looks so much more comfortable off of the left.
Tbf I still think he's just competing with both but he's definitely played a significant amount more on the right - but I said yesterday I probably want 2 more wingers with Talbi covering both.Btw on Talbi I defo think he’s gonna be competing with Mundle not Roberts. Yeah i'm taking Talbi. The possible upside is so high with him. The ability to play both sides really helps but I was particularly struck by his defensive work, think that's rare in wingers his age with his ability going forward.I actually think they are about the same at the minute and Talbi has the higher upside
Both have pace and versatility so it still wouldn't surprise if we went for both but I would honestly prefer Talbi out of the 2
@JimHeron92, @SourPatch2 or @MadMackem77 - what you guys think
Aye. Rashford apparently on £300k per week. Surely Saudi bound….More the wages too
Not that odd, as soon as Cutler was mentioned several links to Johnstone were published. It’s probably a lazy link but one that’s feasible. You must log in or register to see media
This lad looks at every clubs transfers and seems to know his stuff about this and that. it's from the 30th of June and oddly mentions Sam Johnstone.
Be nice to find out one way or anotherAnother busy sunday we thinking? Hopefully an update on petrovic
I'm going for an update on 2 targets probably petrovic and Cresswell and a one new link from out of nowhereAnother busy sunday we thinking? Hopefully an update on petrovic
I’d be absolutely amazed if the keeper coach doesn’t have some input into the signing of keepers. Not final say but certainly input.I’m not buying the bit in the story about the keeper coach tbh, Cutler will not have a say on which keeper we buy.
They did want a resolution by the weekend so let’s hopeAnother busy sunday we thinking? Hopefully an update on petrovic
I’d be very disappointed if we use a loan slot for back up. Both absolutely should be for players of a calibre we can’t yet sign permanently.I can see that scenario except I do think the loan story makes more sense than buying him in that case.
Wouldn't surprise me if the club's plan is to sign a top no.1 (Petro), sell Patto, and use loans for backup GK the next 2 years whilst Matty Young is out on loan developing (L1 next year, Championship year after). Then year 3 Young becomes our backup with the potential to take over as no.1 the following year. Something like that anyway, ha
Was that not just a rumours page though?Guardian said Petrovic looks likely to be done before Monday on Friday
Was a bit of an odd interview (good listen, just confused what I took away from it). He was warning caution and was a bit negative about various things with Talbi but when he then went into detail about it I thought it sounded really positive.Just seen this was said by roker report about talbi
He's already had an ACL injury which holds him back from using his pace as much, worries about picking up more injuries in a physical league, he goes in and out of form, their fans were frustrated with him. He is very quick and can play either wing, he has a high ceiling. Just a few points... give it a listen.
bit of a worry?
