Sunderland are ready to move for Wolves keeper Sam Johnstone to fight with Anthony Patterson for a game.
The Black Cats have just brought in keeper coach Neil Cutler, as we revealed, and he is a huge fan of experienced Johnstone.
Cutler worked with Johnstone at Aston Villa and Wolves and would welcome a third chance at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland have been looking for expensive keepers in Europe but may look at a relative bargain with Wolves.
The move may happen as a loan because Johnstone still has a couple of years on a contract at Wolves.

Just having a look on Wiki and what strikes me with a lot of PL clubs is the size of the squad. Brighton have a squad of 43 players, albeit plenty of them will be sold or loaned out. We currently have 29, and theres loads fans want to see shifted!
So the subtext is this. “Dennis mate, we want to re-sign you. We actually have no real intention of playing you, but wth rules and stuff, you know. What do you say. Fancy coming back and staying in the reserves again?”
