Would imagine there isnt much in it between our wages and Frankfurt but like you say they offer CL football - is it as big to a player who has already played it?

Also may come to preference of league he would like to try EPL or Bundesliga
Champions League will be a big pull as will seeing how Frankfurt have developed their strikers/forwards recently.

Like you say though, EPL is a big pull in itself.

Frankfurt haven’t sold ekitike yet either

same situation as petrovic. Clubs want him just not yet
The player (Petrovic too) would surely therefore want to sit it out to see if those 'better' options materialise over the course of the window? Particularly if those other clubs are already in their ears...

The article literally says both us and Frankfurt are in negotiations. We can't use that as proof that we're in negotiations but dismiss it that Frankfurt are as well. If we believe it about Sunderland we have to take it at face value about Frankfurt too surely?

Not necessarily, he could wait and end up with nothing. We have more time to convince him

I’m not dismiss it, I’m saying they might agree but only once hugo leaves

By the way I'm not saying it isn't true. Just that I'm not getting excited about it until multiple sources say we're in pole position

Yeah CL always a factor, but always think its more of a pull if the player has never played CL at all to say they have played in it

Then again if you back yourself you probably want it every season to show you can compete with the best

Could string us along in the meantime to keep his options open.
Would take some balls for us to move on from a target like him if we were lead to believe that he was even slightly entertaining coming here.

Out of interest are Fab and the other respected journalists tweeting today? Or have they gone quiet due to Jota?

Across the whole league is the EPL that far off the Champions League?
Are, say, Young Boys or Sturm Graz any better than Wolves for example? Then the big 6 or so here are not that far removed from the best of the rest from Europe.
There's prestige to both too.
I guess in this case, you're weighing up top end Bundesliga and Champions League vs possible bottom end EPL though.

Any updates on Reinildo as that has gone a bit quiet after Fab announced it all? Paperwork, Brexit etc?

Petrovic deal to cost £21.5million

Sunderland are closing in on the signing of Djordje Petrovic, with multiple reports suggesting a fee of £21.5million has been agreed with Chelsea.

The 25-year-old Serbia international impressed during a loan spell at Strasbourg last season and is keen to secure regular top-flight football after limited opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
