Lots of talk on which system we will play, I still think it'll be a 433 of some variation. I do love a 343 if used right, need certain players in every position though and we would need a lot more signings if we were going to change system. Rlb also has had more success with a back 4 than a back 3 so can't see us changing it

At the minute we've signed 2 players so impossible to know exactly what system we are going to play

We will get a better picture as preseason goes on

The new coaches that are coming in are used to 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1. Will that indicate we're staying with the same formation or does it not really matter?

It definitely matters imo, 343 was my fav formation as a coach but it helps that I used to play in that system so knew how to coach it. If coaches arent used to how to step that team up at the top level then it doesn't work, I think we will play a back 4 this season

I think RLB will adopt a formation according to the opposition style and the strengths of the players he eventually has available. I can't see him fixing a formation and sticking to it match by match, unless,of course,it's performing well. He will have an idea of how he wants to play, but that will be likely be adapted, often during a match.
Can I just say,the information, analysis and general football knowledge being expressed on this thread is second to none. Notwithstanding that we seem to be linked with a host of different players....a lot of which I'm sure is unsubstantiated journo nonsense......I'm loving the intelligent debate and speculation about our possibilities and probabilities. It's a lot of fun being on this forum and being a fan of this wonderful club these days.

It's a pointless argument at the minute as it's preseason and loads will happen between now and the end of the season
Exactly. I base my opinion off the CURRENT squads, not who we’ve been linked with or might sign in the future. It’s quite clear (after last season) we aren’t better than Leeds right now. Fingers crossed that could look different at the end of August.

It will be mate....KTF.

Despite finishing 24 points behind them both? The side has hardly changed. Also lost Mepham and Jobe!
In the championship we all start on 0 points, our midfield now is so good and our play style is best suited to The PL out of the promoted teams

I think we’ll be a bit of both. I think we’ll have a couple of systems. Playing at home to Burnley and playing away at Liverpool are unlikely to be identical but we’d need to be comfortable with both so I think they’ll work hard on at least two options

Agree, and it must be flexible. Once the window is closed, the players we have will be coached into their roles, which might be different from one match to another.
