Fingers crossed we get a couple more in today. A keeper and centre back would sort us out on the back-line.

We’d still need another 4 or 5 after that though

If it helps our spending due to PSR deadline, surely we'd get some over the line tomorrow to help the rest of the transfer window.

Till today I'd only thought of it in the way that some clubs in breach need to shift a player or two tomorrow to comply with PSR, but in reality it actually helps all clubs spread their spend from an accounting perspective.

There's also the possibility of getting players either slightly cheaper than you otherwise might or even players that usually wouldn't be up for sale. It feels like this has become an excellent opportunity for well ran clubs to get some good business done.

It's also future proofing our PSR standing, the more deals we can do before the end of today, the sooner they are off the three year accounting period.

Our first year in Australia (2007), Boxing Day was a cool 44 degrees C or 111 degrees F. We got used to the heat eventually although anything above mid to late 30s is a bit oppressive mind.

I’ve lived in North Carolina for 28 years. I’ll never get used to the heat and humidity. Hate the summers and try to get away for at least a month. That’s why I’m in Ireland right now and heading to England on Thursday for 3 weeks ☺️. I’ll be back for 2 weeks in October when it can still be in the high 20’s!

Which players that we’ve been linked with are from clubs under PSR pressure.
Is Guendouzi one? Abline?

Some quotes about Habib Diarra from Liam Rosenoir:

https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...d-set-complete-club-record-deal-habib-diarra/

Born in Senegal, Diarra moved to France to join the youth ranks of Mulhouse before signing his first professional terms with Strasbourg in the summer of 2021. He made his senior debut the following October, and has made 92 Ligue 1 appearances for a Strasbourg side that finished seventh in the French top-flight last season under English head coach Liam Rosenior.

Despite Diarra only turning 21 in January, Rosenior made him his club captain, such was his respect for both the player’s ability and the strength of his character.

“Habib is getting better and better and better,” said Rosenior, earlier this year. “And stronger and stronger and stronger in his understanding of the game and his fitness.

“I love Habib because he can be Mr. Angry sometimes, and he likes to have confrontations. He’s a winner - that’s why I made him captain. And he’s doing the club proud.

“He’s a good kid with a lot of potential and I’m delighted to be working with him. He’s a really, really positive thing in our season.”

I moved to the second coldest and wettest locality in the second coldest and wettest state to make life here manageable.

**** a day in the office when it's 39 degrees outside in a country that hasn't heard of double glazing.

PSR runs from 1st July - 30th June, I think.
Maybe we already have another signing but are just waiting to starting loading up for next years accounts, which starts tomorrow.

Just could not live in that heat me. It killed me when I was in the Middle East, hated it with a fierce passion. I did think about Australia in the long ago. Work presented a quite easy way in, but the heat man!!

About 70f to 75f about right for me!

Couldn't pay me to move back to Melbourne. Life way above sea level is what it's about.
