I do hope so. Would be nice to have a fresh face or 2 in before pre-season training begins next week

People getting far too caught up in the money we might spend.

At the figures quoted, we could sign Saba Georgian fella, Bischoff, Lauriente, Baradji and Hendo for a combined £30m...ish.

Are we guaranteed to be so much better because we sign a £20m player in each of those positions instead?

Definitely not guaranteed but there is only 1 of those 5 i would feel very comfortable being first choice.

On Angelino. Ghisolfi signed him at Roma so may be a relationship there

I’m not against it to play here, not amazing defensively but I think he’d be good enough as I think cirkin steps up

It’s more the quality and pedigree of those players. Lauriente is the first player linked where I’ve thought “aye they improve us instantly and go in the XI”

edit - bar singo but that wasn’t concrete

I think we'd be signing 3 or 4 of those for the first team and all to play semi-regularly at least. I don't see many of these massive bids happening.

Oh 100% I think we will get 4/5 to go into the XI then the rest will be squad options mostly

You might be right tbf, I do think that this deal would’ve been in place a while and he’s already been through a notice period at Roma though, fingers crossed it’s announced soon, be nice to get cracking on incomings
