The thing that's reassuring for me is he has had time with Regis who's worked with him, albeit shortly, but in pre season etc. We know how quickly Regis made his mind up on Ba, Aouchiche, Ekwah etc. He obviously saw Lauriente as somebody he can and wants to work with.

Not sure there's evidence for this yet, but if we do sign him then id believe you're right yeah.

Since I saw the rumour about the bloke from Roma I thought it would likely mean Speakman has some form of exit plan in mind. Speakman has probably earned a shot at a bigger role now. I wouldnt guess as to whether he has been beaten to it by this new fella, or he has a different route in mind to us. Either way I think if this new fella actually does arrive then it wont be long before we see Speakman move out. Good luck to him if he does, been brilliant here for us.

Speakman has always been 'youth' oriented, the new chap is more a first team director. Absolutely no reason the two of them can't dovetail their roles.

True but we seem a lot of money for someone who may not be a guaranteed starter when we need many of them

what do i know anyway!

Aye yeah, think we're in the same boat - was just saying until he's actually signed we can't be sure. Pretty decent journo though so fingers crossed.

Valid concern, but I think he would be essentially a guaranteed starter even though I really like Mundle. We need to sign a left winger with only having one so we might as well sign one better than what we have.

Yeah he will start over Mundle for sure imo
