He’s genuinely really good.

he’s quick, both footed and direct. Perfect for the system

he played under RLB for 3 games and was best player on the pitch in all 3.

he’s got 22 G/A in two seasons in Serie A for a struggling sassuolo, then 24 G/A when they won Serie B

has the ability to play left right and up front, it’s a perfect Sunderland signing

Not sure if any truth in it at all, but Ross Stewart?

Ross did his Achilles nearly two and a half years ago. It is an extremely bad injury, and he has barely played since.

Absolute non starter. Good luck to him, but I doubt he will play much in the top two leagues now.

He also spent some time on loan there earlier in his career and played for Lorient B whilst RLB was the coach there. So he's had a couple of spells working with Regis, albeit short ones.

Be a canny fee involved too, (not that it means much) he's rated at €15m on transfermarkt

He looks perfect for the style we are likely to adopt in the PL.

Mayenda and him countering could be fun.

He's almost exactly what I wanted. Would have preferred him to be 6 foot+ so a bit more power but can't complain

It was a pretty massive 1 game but yeah your point stands that hell at least know Regis

He's a winger tbf, so height and stuff shouldn't matter much

Obviously Lauriente would be an exciting signing in terms of what he offers going forward - certainly needs to be willing to offer something defensively though as our wingers have to work pretty hard keeping shape and tracking back.

Not to say that's not an element of his game that is good or bad but he hasn't really had to do it so much for sassuolo.

Just nice to get an actual journalist link us to a player and not with language such as "Understand..." or "one of the promoted clubs" or Sunderland and... and ...."

Pretty definitive "in talks with" and only us mentioned.

Not gonna get carried away but this feels like the first one this summer with actual legs.

Didn't he have two relegation fights there? Was he not tasked with defending much?

Yeah seems a strong and sensible link, when weve been linked strongly in the past its normally closed quite quick as it not normally leaked till done

These are the types of links I want, miles away from the likes of Leicester signing Skipp etc.

Ability aside, financially going to make more sense, allowing more improvements and being able to keep a portion of your financial powder dry still.
