He doesn’t sound that good mate

They believe that tensions were lingering at the club due to the situation of Mile Svilar, whose contract situation was being delayed. While the farewell took place by mutual agreement, the goalkeeper’s renewal proved to be the last straw for the Friedkins.

The newspaper claim that Ghisolfi had a strained relationship with many agents – including those of Alexis Saelemaekers. The ownership wanted to cash in on the sale of Angelino and the failure to do has fallen on Ghisolfi’s shoulders.

More than that, there were issues regarding the renewals of many Primavera players. These issues emerged in a clear video call involving the parties and the Friedkins learned that only Claudio Ranieri’s intervention was making sure of Svilar’s renewal.

A solution was reached early in the morning and CFO Lorenzo Vitali was the one to show Ghisolfi the door, with Ricky Massara in pole position to replace the Frenchman.
You’re being desperate

Ok,we'll see,I have no knowledge of any of it. Trusted posters on here who do have knowledge appear to disagree with you.
That’s fine mate, I want you to do well, not at Leeds expense but if we don’t all take points off other teams we’ll all go back down

I wasn’t here to argue if he is any good, just questioning the excitement over someone who failed at basic contract negotiations and who doesn’t get on with agents, it’s a recipe for disaster and a strange appointment

We had Victor Orta, very hit and miss miss miss yet he came highly regarded. Like I said though, it’s the agents who make clubs aware of availability

That's purely based at his last club though. Where he was constantly over ruled and not allowed to fully complete his role. Ownership at roma has been mad for a while.

Here it's solid, like his previous appointments at other clubs. He knows the manager and owner well.

It's not comparable.

Just looking at the Roma squad to see who we could get.

Manu Kone and Matias Soule might be a bit ambitious but we can dream.

Lucas Gourna-Douath might fit the bill though. Fits the model and he's only on Roma at loan. There option to make him permanent is €15m but they supposedly don't want to pay that.

Alexis Saelemakers would be an ambitious move too. Seems to be available from Milan after his loan ends at Roma and is being linked with a number of clubs.

Surely we'll be looking at the players
This seems to be a move to help reduce KS workload and it's likely that Harvey will work with Ghisolfi in recruitment leaving KS to concentrate on matters concerning players who are already at the club. KS has said in the last few days he's been bombing around Europe, when there are significant contract issues, we've still not had any announcements on,here at home.
As we grow as a club into the PL,it looks like a very shrewd move to me.

Totally agree mate.

Fair enough....I too hope we both hold our own next season...I've always enjoyed our encounters with Leeds over these many years.
Over the last 4 years or so since KLD takeover,we've seen exponential improvement in our club, both on and off the field, and I therefore have complete trust in this appointment....if indeed it is confirmed. Time will tell.

Personally hope we get more northern clubs up and doing well ahead of some of the small fan base southern ones like Fulham and Bournemouth

Indeed. Change always brings with it excitement for new possibilities but it also brings concern. What does this mean for Stuart Harvey for instance? New people, new relationships. It may not work as well as it has to date - and we may lose talent in the process. Guess we just hope for the best outcome - and that this is considered the natural evolution by all at the club rather than an indictment of how we’ve operated to date.
I have faith in the hierarchy for it to be a relatively successful appointment but success is subjective and, as you say, at what cost?

The most important thing for me (and I appreciate I’m likely in a minority) is that we retain an identity as we attempt to transition into establishing ourselves as a Premier League club again.

I’d hate for us just to become another generic Prem club, not only would it be a bit dull for me, but it would lower the ceiling of what we could ultimately achieve in my opinion.

The last four years we’ve established such a clear and obvious identity and I’ve loved it and it’s been fundamental in how well we’ve done, the pride we’ve felt and how much fun it’s been along the way.

Lucky bugger, I’m halfway through fitting a bathroom for my daughters mate.
Her mate told me my daughter said, my dad will do it for you he’s doing nothing now that he’s retired.:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry

Isn't that the goal of retirement mate? Work ya whole life to have a few years doing nothing!

I'm fine with him having a strained relationship with Agents tbh, I think good DoFs will have that. Agents want what is best for their client while the DoF should be doing what is best for the club - that means there will be conflict

I know a few scouts that know him and they speak so highly of him so that's def enough for me to get excited by this

As always time will tell how good or bad this appointment is going to be

I’ve got some big news - I am retiring from the world of work.

So I bought my first ever season ticket, it’s a bit of a trek from Berkshire but I have more time on my hands and do plan to continue with the match threads <cheers>
That's great news @RTB . Retirement is great. Look forward to catching up next season. Enjoy your retirement. Here's to a long and healthy one.
