it’s just my opinion. They’re quite methodical about the progression and career paths of the kids and if they’ve decided it’s time to move I think they’ll do everything they can to make it happen.

they’ve chosen the club they want and it’s been quite public. I think as far as they’re concerned he’s a Dortmund player one way or another
I understand what you're saying mate but we have our price and that's what they need to pay to get him. If not, then they don't want him enough and maybe BVB aren't the best 'club' for the next step in his career/progression. It's also worth remembering it took us a year to get him as well, as he was heavily rumoured to be on his way the season before and even pictured in the crowd at the L1 PO Final vs Wycombe.

I'm sure when it came to Jude, they weren't bothered about helping him move to the next step and more interested in taking care of themselves when charging Real 115m.

absolutely that’s our position and so it should be. I’m saying what I think might happen if Dortmund refuse to go higher, that’s all. The family might take it with good grace and have a crack at the premier league but I don’t think they will. Just my opinion.

If he hadn’t so publicly through the media “chosen” Dortmund then there’d be a bidding war but there isn’t. Which has shot us right in the foot. Everyone is expecting us to bend over and we shouldn’t but what happens when Dortmund refuse to come higher? That’s why I hope they do.

Yeah it's not played out ideally tbh but on the flip side theirs nothing stopping the other clubs coming in and offering what we want and putting the ball back in Jobe's court as a 'we want you and are prepared to pay your value' statement. Especially if he does still want to go his own way and not the path Jude chose which 100% will keep the comparisons going.

Hopefully it's sorted quickly so we can move on one way or another.

If they’ve made an insulting offer like less than 25euro then we should go back and say we were willing to meet half way but now yous can get to **** and it’s either release clause or there’s no deal.

These big clubs just think they can have what they want for buttons, just penny pinching and wasting everyone’s time.

I agree but we can easily spin it back in our favour. Just have one of the big journos like Fab "leak" that we are willing to sell but BVB are way off our valuation and I'm sure other clubs will come out the woodwork with renewed interest.

KLD and KS have proven time and again that they know how to run the club and won't be taken for mugs, we have to trust that they will get this right.

I think that this window is slightly different for KS. He has to bring in 4 to 5 players that go into the first team and the current players who are displaced form the squad depth.
If the players are markedly better than what we currently have and have the right attitude I don't see that causing a problem, indeed it may help improve our current players.

I also expect 2 to 3 younger players to be recruited to challenge for a first team spot in say 12 to 18 months. These players again will be a step up from the young players we have recently recruited.

It could get very exciting if we can stay in this league.

Oh dear, I'm getting over excited, time for my meds, Nurse :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I think the below players have the right / expectation to be given a chance to start games:

Patto ; Ballard ; Hume ; Cirkin ; Neil ; Le Fee ; Mundle ; Mayenda

That's 8 players. So 5 quality additions before pre-season to supplement them. Then you still have Rigg, Isidor, Huggins, Seelt, Alese, O'Nien, Roberts.

I never thought we'd go out and buy 8-10 new starters.

I agree that the 8 you mention could start games for us, but I'd want the five quality additions, plus Le Fee to be the main starters, with the ones you mention supporting those 6.

Sunderland push for Modibo Sagnan

According to information from Africafoot , Sunderland have made an offer of 5 million euros to secure the services of the 26-year-old central defender, whose contract still runs until June 30, 2028.
Is that a reliable source?

How important is Premiership experience?

If we start the opening day with a starting 11 who have 0 Premiership games, is that perfectly fine? Curious to what others on here think.

I don't think it's Premier League experience that's needed as such, it's a combination of ability and physicality that's needed to play in the English league. The idea that players need to have done it already isn't accurate - it's just easier to project that they can do it (because they already have).
