That’s why I think Henderson would be a massive influence behind the scenes, he’s not a pisshead but a very professional athlete and knows how to effect games and would be very good in the dressing room as a leader which he proved with Liverpool and England.
last time around, we had plenty of PL experience but they were washed up players wanting a payday and had no respect for the club or fans, with KLD and KS at the helm they will need the like of Hendo’s experience, I for one am really excited about the upcoming season, I think with the right astute signings we will surprise a lot of teams.

Such clickbait (not you, them).
The story even reads as Graeme Bailey wondering who might try to sign him and they've spun a story out of it to make it look like Burnley want to sign him
"
EFL Analysis’ Chief Football correspondent Graeme Bailey has exclusively told us that both the Black Cats and the Blades could be trumped by newly-promoted Burnley in the pursuit of Mepham.
Bailey revealed: “I don’t think he’s out of the realms of possibility for Sunderland. He did a really good job there. It’ll depend on what Bournemouth are asking. He’s definitely available. But he would be a fantastic signing for Sheffield United as well.
“I think he’s going to leave, and going back to Sunderland is something the player would like, but the Sheffield United thing is there as well.
“I think it is really between those two at the moment. Because he’s on a good wage as well, it would take a team with a decent budget in the Championship to get him.
“Or, it could be one of those promoted teams. Do we see Burnley coming in for him? They may have to lose Maxime Esteve, and they’ve lost CJ Egan-Riley already. I wouldn’t rule Burnley out of the running on that one.”
Mepham’s current Cherries deal expires at the end of next month, but Bournemouth have the option to trigger a 12-month extension.
They are expected to do so and look to sell the centre-half this summer to recoup some of the £12 million they shelled out to Brentford for his signature in 2018.
With sufficient interest in his services this summer, Mepham’s comments made earlier this season about his contractual situation give the biggest indication as to where his footballing future could lie."
Both mate.Is this about the current squad or some of the links?
The most important thing has to be quality, but if we can sign quality who have PL experience then that's a good thingHow important is Premiership experience?
If we start the opening day with a starting 11 who have 0 Premiership games, is that perfectly fine? Curious to what others on here think.

I don't want players just to come in because they've got experience, they have to improve us on the pitch
I've been against Henderson from an on field point of view, the only saving grace for him is his leadership skills are meant to be world class so that will count for something off the pitch.
I want us to do something different to what other newly promoted sides do, we should be signing young promising players with huge upside. Add 1 or 2 experience lads to that I'm fine with
Unless they are signing for us, surely we want as few good players as possible coming in to the leagueWould love to see Sesko in the prem

Wingers for me, we need some proper quality so our system can work in the PL. We lack pace on the right and have a lack of depth on both sidesMust say i think evan ferguson is a good shout. Totally different option to what we currently have, i would take him on loan.
i think cb is the most important position atm. I hope we sign one as one of our major summer signings to play with ballard (who lets not forget is injury prone himself)
Yer right side is a must tooWingers for me, we need some proper quality so our system can work in the PL. We lack pace on the right and have a lack of depth on both sides
Can we not find someone faster than him abroad and more likely to succeed in the prem? Not sure he would be worth the fee ipswich would wantWe need wingers…. Easy… get Jack Clarke back… he loves it here, the fans love him.. we all know what he’s capable of and he’s still young … problem solved

Yeh. Counter intuitively despite his less than impressive year, I reckon Ipswich would want more than they paid for him. They'll want to use him as a cheatcode in the championship and are under no financial incentive to sell due to parachute payments. Was very different for us as we were looking to use his fee to improve the squad, they don't need to do that.
