I think I actually come out on the right side of history when it comes to Mayenda, for once:emoticon-0140-rofl:
There’s no point in writing off almost any of our young players. There’s a kernel of promise in pretty much each and every one. Doesn’t add up to success, mind. Some it’s attitude, some it’s fitness, some its opportunity. But there’s a world where pretty much any of them suddenly click and start to deliver on their promise. A few have been bleeding obvious (Jobe, Mayenda) but there’s a reason why we brought each and every one to the club.

Yeah I hope it is the profile we go for, also wishing I didn't watch anything of him as he looks a player, but I suppose they all do in compilations

Yeh the highlight videos as a standalone you need to take with a pinch of salt. But watching the way he moves, his pace, his control, his passing. And then combining it with the clubs linked with him, you can make a safe bet he's a player. If it was just us linked with him I'd be less confident.

The biggest let down for me is Hemir, he has the build, ball striking, and technical ability to be a top top striker but his work ethic and attitude means he is no good to anyone

In my defence mate, I am ****ing stupid

We are just added to every list of prem clubs on a player link. We arent interested in all of these players.
This! They know we need to strengthen....we're being linked to everybody available....if they do it often enough, they're bound to get one right eventually.

I look at Blackburn away. That chance was the best thing that happened to him

when you slow it down he sprints from the half way line eyes on the ball and the keeper closes him down because he’s still at full speed not looking

fast forward a week to Sheffield United at home and he drives forward slows down lifts his head and past the keeper

then he scores in the play off final running through one touch head up smash
It was the 95th minute in the Blackburn game in the middle of as busier schedule of games as you could get and he’d already put in one hell of a shift in the match before sprinting the length of the pitch - harsh to judge his ability, let alone give him **** and write him off as many did, based on that chance.

like most windows,
there will be players we are "linked" too without actually being interested,

we will have targets lined up that the so called ITK wont know about until they've signed,

so all this X & Y players linked is just BS,

There'll be some that are right though and its all just fun enjoying the ride instead of doing work.

Emotions can get the better of reason sometimes. Agreed that we've got to continue to back these young lads to the hilt though.

Forgive any mis-steps and pick them up again - especially when the effort and attitude are there.

Edit - it is too easy to call players ****, then not appreciate it was wrong/not called for

Think he's still got 3 years!!!
Loan him out till he either finds his level or his hunger for the game, been plenty of strikers who have struggled till they are bit more mature, hope he finds his feet somewhere and we get him off the wage bill

Anyone who watched him for us pre season against Real Mallorca at home will see there is a player in there deep down

he is, but they have an option for him for another year,

so it could be about 5-10m

Yeah i just thought if they don't take up the option is he not available on a free then? Just never seen anything mentioned anywhere about them taking up the option

Sounds harsh but I'd genuinely loan Hemir to the National League. bound to be a team there who'd take a chance and if he can score a few with confidence might come work rate.

Some come down though - Juventus to York City
