i don't see the american's getting bored of it any time soon but in 5-10 years when they give it up it could all go very badly.
Yeah its just hard to be remotely sustainable if they dont make it out of this league in a few tries.

When you've been paying a few older lads mental money with no return on your investment as they inevitably retire.

I feel like I have thought this a few times now and it keeps working.... but eventually this surely comes crashing down?
Just not worth paying 50k a week on 1 player at championship level. They've got money to spend because of some cracking sponsorship deals but they mostly make short term signings and that eventually stops working imo

They could split that money over maybe 3/4 quality signings that would build a base for a solid midtable/playoff push. They'll get a few good games out of Cairney and that's it

Wrexhams squads absolute **** as it is, need some youth pumped into it. Seen so,e Fulham fans saying his legs have gone so he fits Wrexhams model:emoticon-0140-rofl:

I think their manager is too, especially at this level…

They’ll survive though, no worries at all
I hated the parky days, soul destroying. Agreed, they’ll stay up and he’ll part ways as a hero. I’ve seen a few Wrexham fans criticise his tactics through the season saying he only gets through because of the financial advantage Wrexham have held thr last few years. Level out massively this year

Absolutely horrific times. I’m still gutted he was anywhere near the football club

the 50k a week looks crazy, but half of that over 2 years would be a 2.5m fee, look s bonkers purely because hes on a free

in real terms its £2.5m fee, 25k a week and that looks quite modest in the champ whilst bold for a newly promoted L1 side.

interesting to see where the rest of their recruitment lies.

Pondering here the idea that better value exists overseas. Maybe that is the case, I am not convinced, but perhaps the homegrown quota adds £s. If we do get promoted we will need 8 in our 25 man squad.

Who is that going to be?
Patto
Cirkin
Ballard
Neil
ONien

Starting to scrap around a bit now.

Moore as a 3rd choice keeper?
Alese?
Huggins?
Roberts?
Sign Mepham?

I dont believe Rigg, Jobe, Mundle count.

We have to get the balance right of not having 3 or 4 makeweights just because they are homegrown. Because we have u21s that will be on top of that. A 28 or 29 man squad is a coaches nightmare. But we are going to have to get 8 from somewhere...

This is why we need to be smart in the market. I think we would ideally buy 2 or 3 older heads from the homegrown market. Even if that means some might think we could more for our money overseas.

I dont think it is implausible to do some good deals. Will Hughes from Palace. Winks from Leicester. Aaron Hickey, maybe Ryan Ssesgnon. I can think of others too.

From what I understand if we go up he has suitors for a loan in Belgium and the Netherlands - we wouldnt do hibs for a third year.

I'm surprised we'd loan anywhere for a 3rd year. He's 22 and had a couple of years out on loan. I think we're at that point where we either think he's got something to offer us next season or we sell.

It's only really 1 year:
20-21 years old was a squad player with no real position at Hibs
21-22 played his first full season as a midfielder

Seems pretty logical if we get promoted to get a consistently improving player game time elsewhere. But it would have to be his last.

That's me left the scouting world, so will be relying more on @JimHeron92 and @SourPatch2 for updates on names linked this summer - hopefully we will be in the PL getting linked to some exciting names!!

"FormerScout73". Good to see you posting back here again in the last few days. Hopefully we see more it over the summer. You might not be an official scout anymore, but some of us will still be looking out for your opinion on these European wonderkids that we'll be signing.
