That really is very impressive. As if it wasn’t already. I’d love to know what they are telling these players to convince them of the ambitious project.
Obviously there will be agreements about being able to move on and decent salaries but from an emotional sale perspective they only have to show a “ Til the End” compilation and drop them a link to Netflix and it’s surely job done.

From what I know it's not like we are offering higher wages either

Players now know we will do everything possible to develop them and if they outgrown us then we will sell them and not be difficult about it

When we sold Stewart, Clarke and Jobe we weren't awkward about selling them, we kept to our word and got them the moves they wanted

Players want to come here for that, I think the media stuff over the last 12 months has helped in a way - the club is seen in such a good light across football these days

We've said it a few times since KLD has come in but the pi$$ take party truly has stopped

the piss take party is still happening but we’re the ones doing the pissing.

I think that metaphor works

From bits I’ve heard he’s being awkward over his contract. If he doesn’t sign soon we might cash in.

I’m not sure if @Prehab26 has said he’s signed a new deal though so could be wrong

Hopefully just his agent trying his luck. I’m sure Neil will let him get on with his job for now but ultimately tell him to get the deal done

What a time to be a Sunderland fan.

Imagine this thread right now if we’d lost the playoff final.

Soak this in lads. Soak this in.

Yep. Enjoy the fruits of the careful work done up to now, and that includes everyone who committed with their ST money in April '24.

But, I honestly think we'd have been okay if we hadn't went up. They know what they are doing this lot.

If there was a fast expensive car, sitting there, waiting to be driven and you put me in it, you'd be very worried. But give it to the right driver and it will flow smoothly and in the right direction.

That's what we've got now. The right drivers

I don’t think his ability and performances last year warrant this level of gamesmanship in his contract year

personally im on the no room for sentimentality brigade and whilst he has up side it’s not as much as it once was and Enzo and diarra are better, if they got a guendouzi it’s a mammoth task to start and don’t think he does.

It could be argued had he signed before Christmas when allegedly a deal was put to him it would be guaranteed he’d still be here, but whilst he was cautious about what league we’d end up in for his own ambitions, he can’t have a cake and eat it so maybe the club are doing just that?

Both agreed in principle post season then went on holiday. Not signed, I don't think yet.

Neil isn't being awkward btw. Righly he wants significant increase in terms. Madness that our captain and someone who played ever single week was one of our lowest paid players.
Explains why the poor lad was pictured in Benidorm on his holidays

That tells me we’re bringing in the right characters too, players who are here for the right reasons is massive for us
