Shoot me down but I’d get a bigger buzz seeing rigg tied down to a new deal than any of these lads linked signing
No shooting down from me. I would be with you 100%. Give him a whacking big salary as well. He will be far more important to our future sustainability than any player we could buy will be. Simply because of the light it shines on our academy. Speakman isnt daft, he knows attracting the best academy players means lads like Neil and Rigg leading the way for us.

Rigg will get plenty of minutes for us. We are quite short in midfield right now. Only Aleksic, Browne and Jones as rotation options for Neil, Enzo and Rigg

I agree. I just hope when he is in the team folk and clamouring to get somebody else in instead because of a price tag, or he needs resting etc. The lad is the best I have ever seen come through our academy, be a footballing tragedy if his development is stalled because of lack of game time. Footballers develop through game time, Jobe being the prime example. Rigg will be so much better next season, after this last one.
True although not the be all and end all, do you not think the change from end of 23/24 to start of 24/25 was the biggest change for Jobe. Coaches working with him constantly over the summer in pre season was possibly more beneficial. Think at Riggs age game time isn't necessarily the most important because he's just turned 18, he's still growing and improving with the coaches 4 days a week and then the 90mins on a Saturday is useful for parts of his development but not everything.

Id be happy enough with him fighting for his spot and coming off the bench, personally don't think it would stunt his development at 18 but his minutes would need to increase gradually.

Especially in the premier league too that’s so much more ruthless

Tough one for me this mate, I agree with you totally but I think this season is going to be harder than ever and we have no room for passengers. Rigg deserves his shot but if we sign better midfielders we can’t not play them because we need to develop a player and potentially handicap ourselves in the middle by being too lightweight because ELF is also not physically great. The club know how talented the boy is and I’m sure they’ll get it right like they did with Jobe. I also think it’s easier to carry a young lad if there’s quality all around him rather than loads of other young lads who’ve never played at this level though. Judging by some of the names linked I think the only cert to start in the 3 is Le Fee.
