Even if it’s only 2 years it’s around 9 million. It’s bigger than the rest but not massive considering we have more sales to come

also if it’s 2+1 I’m not sure how that works with PSR, I assume you account for 3 years but have to change it to 2 if you do not take the extra year? That is one area I’m not sure on
£9m per year is a hell of a lot. The equivalent of a £45m signing if it was a younger player. I guess they feel they can swallow it this season. Hopefully he is more than worth it. Defo reduces our flexibility considerably, though. Maybe we can balance it by going for a cheaper keeper. Ortega seems more sensible now.

I couldn't give a **** about any arguments rn, we are signing xhaka, i'm just glad the club see the value and are paying what they wanted, I personally thought it was reasonable given his quality and experience and the contract he had

That's the thing, I think he'd likely do better as an 8 but the 8's we have available right now is ridiculous haha
We really need to tweak how the other two in our midfield are working IMO. Lots of chatter on Neil, but for me the bigger concern is how we can make Le Fee more effective. He's not been maximised playing as a 10 in a r&w shirt to date.

Talking of if Dan Neil should get £40K plus a week for the new contract, does the fact that he has been on a low wage and we haven't had to fork out a big fee have a bearing? We have committed big chunks of cash for Le Fee, Diarra and Sadiki and £40K (or even 50) a week for Neil would be a lot smaller than those.

Yes. But he did pass the contract up last season. That has cost the player quite a lot of money I'd imagine.

But it's not my business, they are all on wild money to normal people.

But, as with Xhaka, the situation cannot go on much longer. If I was Dan I'd be signing up. There are a lot worse places for him to be, however green the grass might look over the fence.

I do like him further back like from what I have seen

And I don't think there will be much of a line of PL teams queuing up to sign him. Although that's what many thought would be the case if we didn't get promoted.
If he's not a nailed on started for us, where else would he go.

Italy would be my guess. Think he would do well there and enhance his career.

GREEN LIGHT....it says GREEN LIGHT...see it?

Ring any bells? Hotels?

Aye, @malagamackem was right all along.
How does it show he was right

he told us he saw him in a hotel on a stopover waiting to fly to UK. And that the player wanted the move. We knew he wanted to come here and it was between clubs

what he told us doesn’t prove anything with the transfer as Xhaka hasn’t turned around and gone oh yeah they’re offering the 20 now

he was back in training for days and played for Leverkusen after Malaga claimed he was on a stopover waiting to fly to UK

If it was true that he saw him that’s fine, it’s got nothing to do with the transfer being complete though
