Only thing is I hate when we get stories of us 'ready to offer' rather than us just being done, last couple stories like that have been swiped by another club haha

I still think there was an error in the translation of last night's report. I don't think we are waiting UNTIL Lucumi's release clause expires. I think we are looking to trigger it BEFORE it expires.
Asked an Italian guy on another football forum I'm on about Lucumi. This is what he's said:
With all due respect, I don't see why would he downgrade so much.
He's been a regular starter for great Bologna team for years now, has only one year left on his contract and they can't get more than 20-25m€.
If he does leave, clubs playing in Europe will be in for him, he'd even start for a lot of CL clubs.
Physical specimen, left-footed, great man-marker and very good on the ball. Not great aerially and makes dumb mistakes here and there.
If Sunderland somehow gets him, it would be punching way above your weight, tbh.

Somebody else replied to him saying he'd get to play in the premier league and he replied with:

our interest is public, brings out other teams who can blow us out of the water wage wise or club level at the moment (newly promoted v stabilised club at PL level or even club playing in Europe)?
