30m Euro deal would leave us with just 19m GBP after we've paid Brum their 15%. I think you add another 5 or 6m to the deal IF we go up.
I don’t have any complaints with jobe getting that move, it feels a good one for his career. From our perspective though, it’s hard to get players who could command £30m+ fees, we have to get the absolute maximum from players like that, even if jobe is desperate to go. I’m fine with us showing some loyalty to players and doing what’s right by them, but the club has to come first.
If they want him that much for a specific tournament they pay a premium to get it done and €25-30 million isn't a premium! €30 million is about £25 million and should be the minimum starting price.
Jobe wants to stay, and prove himself. doesnt want to emulate his brother. that being said, if its pushing over 30m the club wont say no
Said £25 million when I googled it, but would obviously depend on conversion rate being right. Either way it's not enough to want Jobe early because we want him.in this tournament!
If we don’t go up £30m to start the window should be enough to have us right up there again if we invest it properly
he wants to make his own path not follow what his brother has done. but can the club realy turn down 30m+
Oh aye at USG? Leeds and Brighton linked this week - useful because I'm crap at guessing how much teams value players at but now it sounds like somewhere either side of €20m would get the job done. If I'm honest i watched USG at the start of the season for Ivanovic and thought David looked really raw, massive lad with pace but felt like he was a bit clumsy and his combining with others around the box was missing. But since then he's kicked on loads, he looks more composed (outperforming xG now), he's more able to hold the ball up, running at defenders the ball stays closer to him and they can't handle his strength. Think anyone would be **** scared of a David - Mayenda front 2 and rightfully so. More than just on the ball though i think promoted teams need the option to go long and he'd definitely provide a target. I'm sure scout73 will have seen plenty of USG games over the years and can offer another perspective, but either of their front 2 (or both) would be good signings for me. (Thought I'd include this tweet i saw today; £4m)
Regarding Jobe, I wouldn't be surprised if we agreed on a price range of 25-30 million euros as a gentleman's agreement, so it's more likely he can move on without too much haggling.
The club needs to get the maximum out of him! Fair enough if it's rumbling on come the end of the window and the lad wants to go. But for now they should be saying not right now come back with an improved offer or wait and see where we stand come the start of the season! Fair enough look after the player but club has to do the best for them too and selling a player that is wanted by quite a few clubs and is highly rated should be going for the £25-30 million if we talking €'s should be 30-35 million. He has quite a few years on his contract I can't imagine him being unprofessional should the club knock back a few offers, so ride it.
