Can’t see them ever making a profit on Stansfield himself but they’ll see it as worth it if they get promoted again and he scores 10 goals or so.

Surprised they haven’t been linked with more players already. I expect them to be really busy this summer

they’ll likely go for quality over quantity. They’ve got a decent side as it is. If you ask their fans they have the best midfield outside the premier league already :D

The Stansfield buy has been a failure. He's not worth what they paid for him and he was probably their 3rd best attacker last season. I'd be shocked if he does well in the Championship.
Still mental how much they paid for him, they wanted a statement signing so ended up paying way over the odds for him.

I have always liked him but I liked him as a 4-5 million player at most.

We've effectively signed the following for what they've paid for him:
Cirkin
Hume
Ballard
Jobe
Mundle
Mayenda
Isidor
Roberts
Alese
Ekwah
Huggins

We might still have money left over.

Obviously great for Bournemouth financial side, but I find it canny sad that they've had one great season and now the vultures are circling, first Real and now Liverpool. Would be nice for a team to stay together for a bit, but that's the pyramid for you.

Wow that says it all. Prefer our approach.

Bournemouth have serious backers anyway, they're being cherry picked now. Wouldn't be surprised if they lose an attacker too.

Personally cant see us losing Jobe if we go up. I still think we are looking at a few leaving if we are still in this league. Btw, Charlton, Wrexham and Birmingham all coming up is a toxic little trade.

I think Rigg stays no matter what, hes not a permanent fixture here but he should be next season if he matures over the summer.

Neil is up in the air for me. I honestly wouldn't be too fussed to lose him, I love the lad but if we could get someone more suited to the role, we might be onto something. Only thing I'd be concerned about is the loss of all 3 possible starting midfielders for the final.

He's really talented but he's an absolute ****ing fruitloop. They desperately need actual central midfielders too - plus an orthodox 9. Another tweener or player to play off a striker doesn't really do what they need it to I don't think.

Add a goalkeeper, a CB and probably a wing back for each side to that list. Cunha is not a needle mover for me, as you say very talented but that 10 position is probably their strongest with Bruno, Amad, Zirkzee, Garnacho, Mount

Neil is a cracking player but there’s loads of players like him in the world. Defensive midfield with a good passing range, we can replace with a player from abroad for half the money we’d get for him due to him being homegrown

While that is undoubtedly true, there's definitely something to be said for real human connection to the club. And having a smart, connected Sunderland lad in the most important position in the team is something that shouldn't be overlooked. It speaks to something bigger than whether the XI is good on a given Sunday. It's about who we are as a club. And being a club who will grow their own players - and elevate local lads to the most important positions - is critical to what SAFC are in my view.
