As I’ve said previously - what a solid start he’d be to a crucial window

We need another eleven players upon promotion, gonna be exciting if we can get over the line. I'll be excited for pre season even if we dont go up.

Need to be ruthless rather than sentimental too.

But I will say we need to keep a good core of the squad in the starting XI so we can keep that team spirit and fight with the players that actually worked hard to get us here.

From the starting XI currently, I see Patto, Hume, Ballard, Mepham (if we sign him), Cirkin, Jobe (if he stays), Neil, Enzo, Mundle, Isidor/Mayenda all being starting XI regulars

That said, we need to sign some PL experience and also a higher calibre of young talent who are more likely to do well from the get go. Some of our current XI should become the new depth on the bench

We’d need better than those in bold imo, especially Isidor

Personally think the PL will suit Isidor's style a lot more, not going to see many low blocks to play against in that league, if enzo is in the middle we will be seeing him thrive from balls in behind imo

Totally get what you’re saying but I’d want someone a lot more rounded for the forward role. We wouldn’t have the ball great amounts, it would have to stick up top. Don’t think that happens with Isidor

In the premier league I think we'd need a new "main" striker but would keep Isidor and Mayenda as bench options.

It will be really interesting to see how ruthless we'd be with bringing in new players. For example I agree we'd need a new keeper but I can also definitely see them giving Patto the chance.

I agree, eleven new players doesn't mean they're replacing anyone we already have, we will need two starting teams that are capable. I think weve got a few who I have hopes for.

I love Mayenda and Isidor, but I'd he gutted if we didnt sign two forwards, simply because the option to play two up will be needed.

I wonder if we will get a young quality striker for the PL or opt for a mentor type with experience. I think the potential of Mayenda for example is massive and he won't reach it if he isn't playing for us.

Wouldn't be against Danny Welbeck to come back and be an option off the bench and mentor the lads

from the triantis article earlier ---

The Sunderland man’s impressive performances for Hibernian have seen him attract interest from several European clubs. The report focuses on St. Pauli and states their scout made contact with the 22-year-old.

Hamburger Abendblatt, who say it’s their own information, explain what the scout heard ‘sounded promising’.

Triantis’ contract lasts until 2027 and Sunderland are willing to negotiate a transfer for a suitable offer. The report states the asking price is likely to be in the ‘high six-figure range’, without mentioning any figures.

It could take some time for the English club to make the final decision. Their immediate focus is to try and get back to the Premier League and to do that they must overcome Sheffield United in the playoff final.

I'm bored so playing a fun little game. I haven't put too much thought into it. But should we win the playoff final, these are the Championship players I'd be targeting:

    GK - Michael Cooper

    LB - Harrison Burrows

    CM - Gus Hamer

    AM - Jack Rudoni

    RW - Romain Esse

    FWD - Josh Sargent

Obviously I'm not saying we should be shopping exclusively from the Championship. But these are the guys I think could step up and add something to our team.

    Anybody else I'm missing?
