Was being entirely serious ... the Maddison bids are nowhere near enough to be taken seriously... hence the point... that they are more of a PR exercise...

Madison's stats have generally eclipsed those of Grealsh ... indeed, last season only Harry Kane was involved in more goals / assists in the Prem ... yet your bids were less than half what Citeh paid for Grealish to sit on their bench ... as I said ... more PR than serious intent.

Quite possibly, but our gross outlay in under a year on players alone is comparable to 14 years under Ashley (in total), add in all of the off the pitch work and expenses and we've gone from being run like a bottom half of the Championship club (better in some aspects, worse in others) to being run like a midtable Premiership club. They have put their money where their mouth is already, no more signings this window would be fine.

No thanks on midfielders. I'd argue its where we're strongest. I thought Everton were swallowing up your offloads?

Was hoping they’d pull through on Winks but they’ve just signed that Belgian unit so that’s probably a no-go now.

Hoping Utd can maybe sort us out, they’ve been linked with dickheads such as Arnautovic and Rabiot so what’s one or two more to add to the collection? Plus side is they’d be upgrading on McTominay and Fred too.

Did you underspend? Or was it that before Ashley turned up you'd been massively overspending since Hall took over. You were a lower div 2 side with a pokey ground that you just about half-filled until he started spending his borrowed money like you were Man Utd. That;s when all your 'loyal' support came out from the cracks. then you had to pay it all back, and no one was interested.
Without Ashley you'd be Portsmouth, shame he bothered.

umm somehow doubt that stat and have a sneaking suspicion that "involved" is doing a lot of heavy lifting to make that stat correct since Maddison had 20 goals/assists and Salah had 37 and i haven't checked anyone else though Son immediately springs to mind .

Stat 100% correct ... Maddison was top of Prem midfielders for goals and assists combined in 20/21 ... no need to apologise ... but do check it out for yourself <cheers>
 
Just double checked ... think the stats I read might have referred to 'English' but for some reason overlooked Bowen ... who also had 12 goals but 2 more assists .. .
 
Hamza Choudhry has joined Watford on a season long loan with an option to buy ...

Expecting some more peripheral players to go out before the window closes ...
