To be fair it's the best we've done in the market and league in the last 15 years, just got to hope they're more Cabaye/ Ben Arfa and less Gouffran/Marveux

I wont lie though, given we're supposedly making offers of £50m+ for Maddison it hurts that RB Leipzig have today signed both Werner and Sesko for a combined fee of £45m. I'm sure they have nice signing on fees, wages and clauses but even so, those two players would have had me think of 7-10th spot rather than 9-12th.

I never said we were signing him, I merely referenced the idea that we had the money to offer such fees. For 14 years under Ashley we underspent on every aspect of running a football club and suffered hugely as a result, for all the talk of potential players our fans are indeed lapping up the ambition - the training facilities have been upgraded for the first time in over a decade and plans are being drawn up for a proper facility. The womens team and youith set-up are also being invested in and the appointment of actual backroom staff (like Dan Ashworth) is a revelation. Under Ashley, out of 92 teams in the top 4 leagues we were, so far as i could tell and I looked at most of the teams, the only ones with a board of ... 1 person. If you have to suggest our ambition is phrased in suspecting apostrophes it merely shows how little you know of how we were run for so long.

In others news, we've bid £40 million for Neymar ... the fans are loving it... but personally I doubt PSG will sell ... but as long as the fan's see the club trying to attract top top talent <whistle>
