You can make it illegal but doesn't mean it isn't going to happen without a massive upgrade to the national drainage systems which isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Not just talking about water companies not spending, I'm taking about the physical aspects of upgrading and upsizing the existing infrastructure, removing CSOs, new treatment plants etc etc

Disruption, land acquisition all necessary before design and install happen. Obligatory NIMBYs objecting, it goes on .....

Too many people, too much development and hard surfaces increase surface as well as foul/wastewater, plus illegal drainage connections and more intense storm events all contributing
Yes but Ofwat with the aid of the Corrupt Tories are showing the WCs to do this whilst giving their shareholders hundreds of millions of pounds each year and not investing in the replacement. But this is just general government policy - the rich take out of the system and don’t actually invest in the infrastructure anymore. It’s asset stripping.

I'm not saying that isn't happening, I'm simply trying to point out that if people think this can be solved overnight as many people seem to think, they're wrong

Yes but that is down to the Tories who have allowed zero investment over the last 12 years. They’ve allowed big corporations to pay out billions without maintaining and upgrading.

No it won’t, now, be resolved over night. It won’t be resolved until the Tories are out (unless they change their ways and nationalise the water industry). Privatisation of this particular utility has failed.

I don't understand how it has been privatised in the 1st place. You can't even swap suppliers to get a better deal. Os instead of your money goign to wards staff payments and infra investment it goes to those to AND profit margins. Privitisation of the water industry is quite simply a net loss of investment

Sarr from Watford has broken down. Makes it more likely Pedro deal can be finalised.

Perhaps one day we might get Maddison, but it won't be this window.

This all getting a bit heavy.

What the Tories need is for the SNP to start banging on about pointless nonsense for 15 minutes in obnoxious accents.

Then we can forget this whole sordid affair

<laugh><laugh><laugh> Oh the irony of someone called welshie slagging a Scottish accent, at least the Aberdonians grunt when they cum in a sheep rather than sing some poncy hymn to them <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Hey don’t knock the Welsh!
I had the best donner kebab for years in Wales, it actually tasted of lamb!
It was a lot better than pizza crunch!

Was banking on a reply from you, leaping to their defence like Sturgeons used tampon. <laugh>

The reply being in essence "haha, no U"

You need a tissue bro, some of their **** is still smudged on your nose

I've just signed this.
Northumbrian Water are a joke.
When the River Wear rises to about 1.5m in over the winter months the feaces, wet wipes and sanitary towels get pumped into the rivers.
They were like we have combined sewage overflows in place that should prevent the wet wipes and sanitary towels entering the river.
Then they admitted that only five of the 7 are fitted with metal cages that snag everything.
Pretty much our sewage system is Victorian and can't handle the volumes of water in the system that happens for various reasons these days. Farmers draining fields, wealth Saudi land owners draining the moors to encourage Heather growth for the grouse to feed on.
So in summary, I blame the Saudis.
PIF OUT!
