Forest close to completing Freuler deal
Nottingham Forest are close to completing a permanent deal for Atalanta midfielder Remo Freuler.

The fee under discussion for the Swiss international is thought to be €9m (£7.6m)

Forest have signed 12 players in this transfer window.

So he could become their 13th signing in this transfer window. WTF? <yikes>
That’s a scatter gun approach isn’t it. Bonkers.

You'd like to think Dan Ashworth already had some younger stikers with potential on his radar, or an eye on one or two lesser known foreign strikers who might be easier to obtain. At the moment we can probably afford to experiment slightly with one or two youngsters, if taegeting bigger names isn't working right now.

If Dan Ashworth is in charge of scouting and signing strikers if he worried if I was you. Judging by his ability to find a striker for Brighton and the fact they haven’t had one that can score regularly since Glenn Murray!

Heard Cooper saying they would have signed similar numbers if they didn’t go up as they lost a lot of players in summer. They had quite a few loans and some left at end of contracts so needed to bulk up squad. I guess just been able to buy better quality for more money as they’re in prem now. Does look very Fulham like from few years ago though and didn’t work out well for them.

Just hope for their sake they aren’t screwing themselves over if they do go down and end up with tonne of players on big wages

Nope, Jessie "I'm committed to the project" Lingaard I believe only signed a one year contarct.

<cheers>

A couple of days ago many of the bloggers, football magazine sites and social media groups were claiming to have seen "heavy links" that we are seriously going after two superb targets, namely a certain Lyon player and a striker from Marseille.

I admit that it's taken me longer than a few around here to sus that these stories are not 95% boll, but fully 100% trash.

On a positive note, we're still top half material as we are (with reasonable - not severe - injuries thrown in).

Anyone reckon we’re actually going to sign anyone?

A moment ago
I'll be surprised if we don't. I'm sure the owners will be thinking that a place in Europe is on the line here.
We've improved enough to be safe in the Premier League, but the next step is within touching distance if we had a reliable striker and cover for injuries in midfield.

It’s Mike Ashley talking

So N'Dombele has been banished from Spurs as they try to find a buyer for him yet the same article reckons Spurs won't accept anything less than £50m

This has Everton written all over it <laugh><laugh><laugh>
I always struggle to understand how the player who can’t get into the Selling Club’s first team is suddenly such a valuable asset that they couldn’t possibly accept less than £50M for this miraculous player.

Absolutely this. He’s worth 10m at most because of that.

They clearly want shot of him.

It’s not even as if he is better than any of our starting midfielders last week.
