I would imagine Toney would be closer to £40m going by all accounts.
Think Sarr cost them £27m. They'll want more than £15m I expect. Toney won't be less than £30m either, prices are mental.
I'd throw £30m on Sesko. Looks the real deal. Then a DM.

We've simply changed bank accounts from Barclays to HSBC, paid off all existing lines of credit to Barclays, and as part of that changeover have access to optional credit facilities which we have used future (12 months) tv money and ticket money as security.
I reckon we were going to spend anyway's. It's just a typical poker move at this stage of the window, difference between this season and others is we have secured our top target and another couple of upgrades on permanent moves and have 6 weeks left before window closes.
No guarantee. But it just gives us that option.
Was talking to a mate who does commercial deals and I asked him about the PIF and why they would be investing in Newcastle and what do they get in return.
For them to get the exposure they need (the sportswashing element if you like) then they need the exposure outward facing. This means they have to have sponsorship and advertisement.
PIF and mostly their subsidiaries will absolutely have to pay for this so we are guaranteed the income. But here is the best part.
The PL can only block the commercial sponsorship deals that are above market rate value which have a precedent already set. They can delay and vet them and that is what the issue is.
**** me, didn't realise it was that much.... but in our favour, offers from Sarr haven't been forthcoming, so I imagine we could chisel that down a bit, as they need the money right now.
OK, I'd be fine with £30m for Harrison and £30m for Toney. If we bid £30m for Toney, I think Brentford would accept.
Signed for £10m 2 years ago, getting £30m for him would be good business.
The problem is that they're under no pressure to sell, and really the move will only work if Toney himself wants to leave and join us.

That's probably why it took them so long to confirm Fun88 staying on - they probably had a massive deal lined up and its being "checked" by the EPL but wouldn't have cleared for the start of the new season, potentially also why the club were very publicly advertising for commercial lawyers.

Surely paying £20m more than a striker is worth for a good player, is better than the cost of not signing anyone?

Probably and possibly. The club will have deals being lined up. Fun88 where offered a get out which they could have took up.

I also reckon we will do a lot more corporate partners bring lined up. It just takes time.
I think the balance is hard to striker. DCL for example is by no way a £50m pound striker. Man City laid that for Haaland (plus add ons).
But there has to be strikers out there that can bang in 15 goals for less than £50m.
I think this was always a cash flow issue aswell as a not being ripped off thing.
Apart from the Wood deal I don’t feel like we have been mugged off with any of our signings so far. All have been value for money.
So the new regime have proved that they can get value for money.

The problem is a striker's "worth" is massively subjective these days.
Ie Wood wasn't worth £25m but we met his release clause and Burnley went down cos his replacement was ****e. Good business.
Wilson seems good value for the £20m we paid cos he gets goals, but he's injured at least half of ever season.
Lukaku looked like good business for Chelsea a year ago when they spent £97m on what everyone was calling "the missing piece of the jigsaw", but now that transfer was clearly a huge mistake.
£30m ish seems like the price for the likes of Toney, DCL etc, I can't see us paying £50m for either of those anyway.
Understood but the reality is we're only a week away from the start of the season but no striker has been signed. Eventually, we may just have to spend big to get one.
I maintain the faith but damn....
But on the other hand there's still over a month of the window left.
Right now we have last season's team fully fit, plus Botman and Pope, which is hardly a bad situation.
If we do sign a striker in the next few days, I can see them playing for the first few matches with all the faffing that will need to be done before they're settled.
