Exactly this. The players we signed already show you we are an attractive proposition.

Can’t see us spending upwards of 60m on him though.

Arsenal don't need him after buying Fabio Vieira this summer plus they already have Smith Rowe and Odegaard that can play a similar AM role to Lucas Paqueta. Sounds like the Lyon chairman is trying to make us overpay by pretending that they received a higher bid from Arsenal.

We should just go in and say £45m plus £5m addons and then set a deadline.

Could be, but I've seen Tottenham are quite far down the line.
