8 days til pre season, 43 days til the season starts.

Getting players early would be ideal in the short term, but it's irrelevant in the grand scheme of things especially if it's not the right players.

The window doesn't close until 1st of September and the players brought in are for the next 3 to 5 years.

Yeah, it's important they are the right fit

I would like to have the new players in and ready to go for the first game if possible
There are 5 league games before deadline day

Newcastle just don't have the pull their fans think they have and the club don't want to pay over the odds on transfer fees or wages which makes big name signings impossible at this stage.

Newcastle have to establish themselves, grow the brand and improve the facilities before they can crank it up.

They will do that.

No player wants to play in a pi55 pot city

Botman Ekitike Pope Targett that's going to be most the work done

Hugely underwhelmed with that, and a mistake as well in my opinion. Dubravka was never the problem, creating goals was. Ekitike is not a solution to that problem. Botman seems like a good player, but again conceding wasn't the problem, creating goals was. What we need more than anything is two things - a reliable first choice striker and a creative influence either from CM or from RW.

No but they would choose a club that's in a more appealing place if it was already a bigger club

Newcastle are competing for players with bigger clubs now and some offer a better quality of life.

It will all change and get easier once Newcastle is offering more than a project and 1st team football.

It doesn't meant they can't get good players btw.

You can look at this 2 ways
He’s using the current climate to scratch a few more quid or
He’s now not the centre of attention and in true French style is having a bit of a sulk
Personally I’d like him to stay , u need a few exciting players in the team
