I think you're looking at the wrong fans, mate. There may well be an idiotic minority expecting World Class players, but they're few and far between. And I wouldn't use Twitter as a gauge for the norm - Twitter's just full of morons, it's the idiots playground.
Nunez might turn out to be pie in the sky. Nobody with a brain is going to cry if we don't sign him. But I think if you get talking to Howe as manager, if the owners start talking about ambition and plans, if the pay check on offer is high enough, there's only a small number of players off the menu. I trust Howe in this - and I think there will be no effort whatsoever to take "big clubs" cast offs.Overpaid fannies like Lingard, Pogba, etc., won't be fancied. I imagine Dybala's in the category. The players will need hunger and ambition and see NUFC as the place to achieve their dreams - when you've achieve **** all at a large club, you'll see NUFC as a comfort blanket - none of those will be signed.
Harrison is a great example. Tonnes of ability as a kid, signed by Man City, put on loan to NYC, Boro then Leeds where he's grafted and grafted. Never got the cut because City have always been full of those players - Foden, Sterling, Mahrez, Silva, Grealish. But he's close. And if the board/manager say he's good enough, I believe them.
This is one of your most reasonable posts so I'm going to say fair enough and I agree.
