Yes but £200k a week for a back up centre back is not good business.

I’d rather sign Botman and Carlos. That way we have Botman, Carlos, Burn and Schar. Now we may not get both Botman and Carlos but there will be just as good players at a third of the cost.

A bag of piss is better than Lascelles but you wouldn’t want us to sign them.

i genuinely don’t get the “they are better than what we have” as that applies to almost every player in the world.

Its due to no transfer fee and the FFP rules. I really can't see us spending thick end of £100m on defenders, when we just got 3 in Jan. May be wrong but we'll see.

i get that but then it sets a nasty precedent for back up players.

we don’t need to spend £100m on centre backs. We’ve got Burn and Schar. Get one of Carlos or Botman and then a good young player. Look at the championship or a different league.

We are now being linked with Rashford too. But this is what will happen now, the papers will just link us with everyone in the hope they might get one right.
If we stay up it will be popcorn time.

I want to agree.

But I think he has matured and he’s scoring like ridiculous amounts now. And he does it at international level also.

He’s gonna score goals in a good premiership team now. He has sorted his discipline problem.

He won't. His discipline was never the issue. He gets closed down far too quick which makes him snatch his chances in the PL. The level of defender and GK and pressing effects him. Just my view like.

Always thought Rudiger was very solid tbh. Chelsea always have loads of egos in their squad, but Rudiger seems very no nonsense and committed, and has a decent goal return too.
