Not sure how they're doing it... but, it's quite clear what we can do in this window without dipping into the next ones. If they want to shoot their bolt on a whole new squad and hope for the best - fair enough! I mean, a lot of players left after loans last year, but 16 through the door is some going!
There's only so long we can go before it's either get ripped off or sign no one. I'll maintain faith though. No excuses if we don't sign anyone else though.
We've got about 40m to spend without dipping into other windows budget / expected increased revenues. We'll go over that more than likely, but I presume we're having to be careful about who it's spent on, and when, due to the availability of loans / perm deals due to due to other players moving on. It'll be busy between now and the 1st I reckon.
While I agree their spending is mental, they are going balls out to stay in the league, we are taking a more considered approach so can't really compare. Forrest are risking it for a Premier League biscuit at the end of May and had to with all of their departures at the end of the season, where as we are playing it slow and steady. In terms of expenditure we are currently 11th for this window but we've only bought in 3 players. In terms of net spend we are 7th and all those teams above us have bought in more players. If we do get Paqueta for £35-40m we'll jump a place or two up that list as well, plus a few other tentative links to Pedro/Ramos could see us double our spend in the last 13 days. Only Chelsea have a bigger deficit than Forest and if Forrest don't stay up they could be in real trouble. Personally think they are looking at what Fulham did - spend big and if they get relegated they'll hope to bounce back at the first attempt but if they don't they could cease to exist in 5 years when the parachute payments run out.
