Wish people would stop saying Fraser is a poor player, he's way more effective than ASM. Longstaff is improving again - Murphy's a lost cause.
Absolutely agree with this. ASM has not progressed and is showing us why he is with us. He is magic 10% of the time and when it was all about him. It was fine. But this team is a team. I don’t think he likes the style. It takes away the emphasis from him. Miggy at least puts the graft in and will in many games will do well and in some well be nullified. But he’s trying hard and that’s what matters. Brighton literally stifle teams. And I expect them to be too 10. They won’t score many and they won’t concede many.
ASM from the bench sounds exciting. We have got to upgrade Murphy, sign a centre forward and maybe if time/money allows get a CM in.
I'd personally be sticking in another bid for Maddison. A goal and an assist already. looks like a fantastic CAM option. They need a proper GK and money to spend elsewhere. 45m + Dubravka. Well worth it. PL proven, 12 goals and 12 assists last season for leicester.... Leicester are on the decline, we could double his wages. Only 25 years old.
Rumours abound we’ve given up and moved on to Gallagher. Decent player but just a bit “meh”. Is he miles better than Willock? Does he create or score? Just rumour of course but he’s be third in a priority list of 3 for me.
He's crap . He's had one good season and just runs around and longstaff is becoming a long running joke. He's been improving 5 years he's gash. The lot need replacing long term, but fraser Murphy longstaff are the worst of the lot
We'll not get much for max at present either because he's been off the boil since Bruce left. The guy can't play football and howe is trying to teach him. In my experience when you try learning something new there's a period of time when you go backwards before you go forwards.
I actually think ASM has improve a bit under howe. He passes more and despite being erratic, he's actually been quite dangerous the last couple of games and put some decent balls in. We could do with better though. I think ASM will end up going back to the french league eventually.
I think it's a case of just waiting until Sept 1st and enjoying the journey. It's no good sitting in the bsck of the car like children saying are we nearly there yet and why why why.
If the team is not added to with at least 1 more attacking player, then it will do well to finish in the top 10 this season. Our GK/Defence looks solid, our CM's look solid and hard working.. But Wilson will likely get injured at some point and now we're left with ASM, Wood and Almiron.... that is bang average. Unless we're happy with finishing a few points higher than last season and finishing 9/10th, we need another attacking option. Any new signings need to be better than what we've got and I don't need any more time to establish Fraser Murphy and longstaff will never be good enough. Max too , but there's something there that tells me it's possible he can do the job on his day at least.
